Re: Glen Licht to Glen Affric by touring bike

Thanks for the info

So the path is wide enough even in the more precipitous sections?

Glen Licht to Glen Affric by touring bike

Does anyone have any thoughts on pushing a touring bike up the pass from Glen Licht to Glen Affric - possible? I'm curios as I quite fancy cycle touring in the area and using the path from Glen Licht up to Glen Affric as a short cut towards Inverness (via the Beauly Firth). Do you think I could push...

Re: Frost, sunburn and a free map on the Affric Kintail Way

Hi Great pics! You mention you met a cyclist at Camban - which way was he travelling (west -> east or east -> west)? I'm curios a I quite fancy cycle touring in the area and using the path from Glen Licht up to Glen Afrric as a short cut towards Inverness (via the Beauly Firth). Do you think I could...

Re: Rab Latok Jacket - utter rubbish

Mine is about 2 years old - but I have always been dubious about its quality as waterproof. Its has always gotten soaked around the cuffs, but this time I was properly soaking - luckily the temperatures were relatively mild 2/3deg on the top. However I was still very uncomfortable and cold. I think ...

Keela Munro

Does anyone have one of these jackets that could give me an idea of how it performed. The Keela blurb says "its the dogs", but all manufacturers say that. I know the Mountain Rescue use them - so they must have some good qualities - but I'd like to know how they perform for hill walkers an...

Rab Latok Jacket - utter rubbish

I was walking in the Lakes yesterday in low cloud and occasional heavy showers, wearing a RAB Latok jacket. These are the worst conditions I have used the jacket in and it was useless. Its about as waterproof as a storm drain. My wife also has one and she was drenched as well. Anyone else had this e...

Hi

Does anyone know if you can cycle the walking route from Dalwhinnie to Ft William, in the sense its cycle friendly enough to make an attempt?

Cheers

Re: Bargain winter gear

I hear what you're saying re: the independents - but I'm simply not well enough off to pay £200 more than I have too, as I'm sure many others on here aren't either. Hence my post/advice.

Re: Rab Latok Alpine with poss wrong labels!!!

The point I'm trying to make is that if you buy an expensive item like a shell jacket you would expect it to be RIGHT... So are Go Outdoors selling garments that aren't passing quality control at the factory. More importantly if you go out into the hills you're relying on the gear you buy to protect...

Rab Latok Alpine with poss wrong labels!!!

All My Mrs. bought me a Rab Latok Alpine from Go Outdoors at Xmas - I have only used the jacket twice and when drying it today I noticed that on the inside pocket (LH) there's a RAB Neutrino label stitched on to it where (you would imagine) it should have Latok Alpine label ...No? Anyone come across...
