Re visiting Skiddaw
I don't often write reports of my walks but I thought that a round of the Skiddaw edges might provide an interesting seasonal comparison to JKLL's report "Slipping up on Skiddaw" (posted 13/01/18). Unfortunately, I am yet to match Anthony's superb photography skills. Skiddaw was the first ...

Alport Castles
A day off work with a good forecast was not to be missed but with not enough time to get to the Lakes or North Wales it had to be a trip to the Peak District and a walk along the Derwent Reservoirs and up to Alport Castles. If you haven't been its well worth the (modest) effort, the castles themselv...

Re: Tower Ridge, Red Cuillin and the In Pin
Outstanding stuff! I was especially impressed with your ascent of Tower Ridge.  I've had this one in mind for a while but always seem to end up doing something else (e.g. Ardverikie Wall back in June). I'm guessing the rock was pretty slape on the wet parts? My aim is to do TR solo but...

Tower Ridge, Red Cuillin and the In Pin
Living in Lincolnshire days in the mountains (particularly The Highlands) are few and far between and as a result I spend hours pouring over maps, guide books and this website planning the next trip. With time booked off work at the end of July the intention was to have a few days north of the Borde...

Gran Paradiso 4,061m
This climb was the culmination of a week in the Alps last August on the KE Adventure/Mountain Tracks "Chamonix Gran Paradiso" trip. For those looking for an alpine intro/refresher I can't recommend this trip highly enough, well organised and with excellent guides. The first half of the wee...

Re: Tryfan,Y Foel Goch and Gallt Yr Ogof
I have climbed Tryfan by various routes (with and without ropes) many times over the years and would never claim to have conquered it, a draw is a very fair result! To my mind the best mountain outside the Cuillin. Thanks for some good photos.

My first report - Cust's Gully
Living in Lincolnshire (max altitude 168m!!) I have to travel some distance to proper hills and so trips to the mountains are relatively few and far between and days out have to be picked with care. The weather so far this year has hardly justified the trip up to the Lakes or N Wales (let alone Scot...
