Re: I fought the Lawers and the Lawers won

Cheers Tim! The photos rarely do it justice but I gave it a pretty good go this time! The foggy one is one of my favourites.

Re: Return to Chonzie almost 12 years on from the Big Bang

Great wee report mate, good on everyone for persevering and hopefully the bug catches on! I did a similar one on this hill talking as well about how the unremarkable ones often provide some stand out moments...when I did Chonzie with my dad we came across a herd of cows in the mist near the top. One...

Re: I fought the Lawers and the Lawers won

@Rockhopper - Thanks so much - It did just feel like one of those rare occasions when conditions just fall perfectly. I'll keep this one in mind next time I'm out in the rain and gales! @Grisu - Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad you've enjoyed the description and its cool to hear they are inspiri...

I fought the Lawers and the Lawers won

I haven’t written one of these up in some time now despite having added a few more peaks and had some great trips in the outdoors. Three years since my last report…shocking. I had the urge to get this outing down in some form other than the photos placed on social media or harboured in a hard drive....

Re: Spectres and Spectacles

Beautifully written with humour and plenty of interest. Such detail too! Wonderful photos including the one of a particularly good example of a Brocken Spectre. Nice one! Many thanks Yorjick, much appreciated! We have to poke a little fun at ourselves sometimes  The Brocken Spectre was ...

Re: Suilven by Sea Kayak

Tried my first kayak/camping trip in Canada this year and loved it. Nice to see it of use in Scotland too, certainly a better alternative to the long walks in sometimes! Nice report man!

Spectres and Spectacles

The weather for Friday constantly improved throughout the week, high pressure promising to build and an increase from 30% chance of cloud free munros, to a whopping 90% by Friday! No chance of rain, and zero wind for the day was leading to a great autumn day out. I've had my eye on these two for a w...

Brothers Unite - White Mounth Circuit

I have been trying to get my brother up one of these Munro's for longer than I remember now. The lad will only climb mountains in foreign countries has always been the joke. A hark back to his travelling days. So imagine my shock when he recently said he fancied giving it a go. I figured as a one of...

Mhanach 5-0!

When I was venturing into the mountains a good few years ago, numbering around the 16-17 mark, number 50 still felt a helluva long way to go. To be honest it seems to have come up quite quickly, and I can still remember each of them fondly. I have always loved how each outing etches itself in the me...

Re: Stuchd an Lochain fail/win/fail/win/fail.......

I'll put my hands up too and confess I've missed the turn off and started from Stronuch Reservoir! Conditions were a bit more pleasant than yours though, great read and some nice photos there!
