Re: Ben Vane - the wee nutter...

I like the photos. Autumn on its best.
By reading your report it's sure you enjoyed the walk.

A pitty I live at the other side of the 'water', so it takes a lot of effort before getting to this beautiful area.

Information about Cairngorms

Hi there, in 2010 we walked the WHW, and did some Munro's. See our reports ! For 2013 we are planning our holiday and an idea is going tot the Cairngorms, do some hill walking and pick up some Munro's, in about 2 weeks time ( in June): Has anybody some tips: 1. where to stay (we prefer a hostel) ? 2...

Re: Via Ferrata Eggishorn, Switzerland.

That view of the great Alletsch glacier brings back more than a few memories. The longest glacier in all of the Alpes. ............ This is a fabulous part of the Bernese Oberland. Thnx for your reply. I understand your reaction after reading your post about the Swiss tour on the Lyskamm. Great you...

Re: Via Ferrata Eggishorn, Switzerland.

Just to be able to get up above the snow line and look out over the peaks and glaciers is reward enough although I'd love to give it a lash before I get "over the hill". Just give it a try. There will be mountainguides enough to carry you up .... But I think a cable car is cheaper than a ...

Re: Stac Pollaidh - always a pleasure

Thnx for your reply on my report of the Eggishorn
I see some nice scramble parts too in your pictures. It doesn't look harmless if one foot slips away.
I hope the outdoor season will last for a littel while: getting restless already .....

kind regards
Bert

Via Ferrata Eggishorn, Switzerland.

After walking our West Highland Way and Munro's in June of 2010, we went on vacation again in September 2010. The trip took us to the canton of Valais in Switzerland. We settled down at the campsite in Visp. In addition to several hiking tours in the Saas Valley, the valley of Türtmann and Baltschie...

Re: Creag Uchdag from the Lednock Dam - a game of 3 halves

Nice report Graeme
What an adventure: broken bridges, swollen burns. The girls did well walking the crags.
They look exhausted lying on the pillows.
My daughter has a boxer too, lovely dogs ! :D

greetings Bert

Re: Hello to all

Hi Astrid I'am Dutch too :) , and also very impressed of his site. Because we plannend (me and Lucie, my wife) to walk the West Higland Way, and, in combination, walk some Munro's too, we could prapare ourselves after finding all the pratical information on this site here. Re: Ben Nevis, normal route

Well done Bert. Really like the photos in this report. When I finished the WHW back in 1997 the last thing I had on my mind was doing the Ben. It was a case of straight to the nearest pub followed by a curry. Still not done Nevis actually - maybe I'll save it for number 100 later on this year...

Ben Nevis, normal route

After completing the West Highland Way we planned our first day of rest on Sunday. And this was a good choice, because the weather on Sunday was very bad, starting drizzling and ending in rain in the afternoon. But the next day Monday 14th of June it was a clear and blue sky. :D Before setting off t...

Re: Stob Coire Raineach [Buachaille Etive Beag], Glen Coe

Hi there thanks dropping some comment to the trip report of our walk on Buachaille EB last June. Your pics of the winter - scenery makes us longing for more Scotland. But booking a flight in advance will always be the problem: no one can predict the weather. And last June we were very lucky with the...
