It was only a few meters away tucke...

Re: Loch Lomond and Cowal Way with kids

Not done the Cowal Way as such but various hills utilise bits of it and I've not been that taken with it. Pretty boggy in places.

Re: Geal Charn from Spey Dam

I would have been wary of the burn crossing. Don't tell me, it was just a an easy to step over narrow burn. Good views of the crags there too and a nice waterfall. Next time... There is a bridge (not marked on the maps) across the Markie Burn a bit further on at NN588983 (or at least I assume it is...

Re: Ice free summits?

It is frustrating waiting for the snow to clear, seems to be never ending this winter! I'm waiting until the snow clears before getting back on the hills, but a low level hike tomorrow is on the cards You can count on the fingers of one hand the years when you could expect to go up a munro in March...

Re: Clova Hotel to Glen Doll

Looks like a good route on satellite imagery. Enjoy your walk. The mention of the Glen Clova Hotel made me smile, bought back memories from the 1980s when my university mountaineering club stayed in a hut at the head of the glen for a week one Easter. No doubt it has changed bit since then! It has ...

Re: Clova Hotel to Glen Doll

If you look at the aerial photography (bing maps better than google) the track is pretty obvious apart from a more grassy looking section.

Re: Feedback requested: 3-day route Cairngorms

Thanks everyone for your responses! Will take notes and incorperate the tips. About the planning: Can anyone recommend an app for routeplanning with OS that has the known paths in there? Is there even one? For example, one that will show the start and path itself of 'the very faint path up Carn a M...

Yes I'd not believe everything Komoot tells you (not used it). I'd look over the OS mapping and also have a look here instead viewtopic.php?f=1&t=122508
