I’m just not long back. Either there’s a cleanup just happened or we got lucky as we thought all the hills were very litter free.

Re: The saddle

Can't help exactly but I've descended to the campsite after the saddle and the tops via the 690m spot height(or thereabouts)

btw, if your ticking munros the summit isn't the trig point but a little bump to the east.

Re: Red Flag on Pentlands West Cairn Hill

Did it actually mention the mod anywhere in the notice? The usual ones in the pentlands are very officially worded and there’s no ambiguity about who they are from.

Re: A good camera for the hills?

Up until recently I was using a Sony Rx100 (Mk1) on dry days and an Olympus TG6 on wet or unpredictable days. I thought that the Sony pictures were significantly superior and it's a nicer camera to use, but I've lost two of them to the weather. Losing a Mk1 isn't, I suppose, that bad but losing one...

Re: Parking Near Kenknock

Hmmm Not showing as a public road on PKC website but it is on Google maps and the Google car went down it. In 2022 I think Google might have more clout than the council. Must have come in from the north as theres definitely a locked gate just above Kenknock. It was also 2010 that it drove along the...

Re: Unexpected path on my Cairngorm walk today

Unsurprisingly mapping streets will be of limited use on the hill. However as always there’s an alternative https://opentopomap.org/#map=14/57.03450/-3.60824

Re: Unexpected path on my Cairngorm walk today

I think its quite old. I can see it on photos I took on my 1st visit in 2007 and looked well worn then. Its probably formed from walkers then had some repairs(I assume its had some rework?)
