Re: Black Mountains (South)

Thanks for posting this - followed your route a couple of days ago & had a brilliant walk, lucky with the weather - surprised at how few people we met, though it was a Tuesday

Re: Quinag (#222) - a Corbetts' compleation camp

Congratulations on compleating. I've enjoyed reading your reports and this one in particular as my journey was not dissimilar to yours and it prompted so many memories. My first Corbett was Glamaig on 29 August 1988 and the last was Beinn Iaruinn on 22 August 2021 - a tad under 33 years. Like you, i...

Re: Meall Tairbh: small mountain with big views

Enjoyed reading your report. Did the walk yesterday following 'your route' in reverse so thanks for posting the map. Some cloud & rain in the vicinity (but not on me) which meant I didn't get the quality of views that you did. Nevertheless it really is a great viewpoint

Re: Joyous Return to Kinlochhourn

Enjoyed your report on the various walks. I climbed Buidhe Bheinn on the Wednesday (8th) following the same route you'd taken. Those 2 extra days of good weather meant that the snow had gone. The views along Loch Hourn towards Ladhar Bheinn are stunning and the descent along one of the grassy stalke...

Lost Paramo gillet

Hi I climbed Beinn Bhan & Sgurr a'Chaorachain (2 July); Aonach Buidhe (3 July) & Creag Liath (4 July). When I started out I had a black Paramo gillet (medium) folded up in its own pocket in my rucksack. The weather was brilliant & I didn't need to wear it. When I got home a few days late...

Re: Blairdenon Hill - The Ochils - From Sheriff Muir

Grant and I had chosen this as our last Donald some time ago and had recently decided it was time to compleat, however choosing a date had proved tricky. The forecast had seemed promising for Monday morning, so we decided to take this route as it had the added advantage for me of an approach over Gr...

Re: Land of Strange Names: Craignaw, Dungeon Hill & Mullwhar

Hi Kenny. Enjoyed reading your description of the walk. Downloaded your GPS coordinates and used them as the basis for today's walk. Very helpful. Very wet underfoot made walking in some stretches challenging but a mostly dry day with great visibility more than made up for this. Cheers.

Re: Great Glen Way vs Cowel Way

Hi. Really enjoyed the West Highland Way mainly because of the variety of terrain and views. Did the Great Glen Way as past of the Maggies Challenge where we cycled 32 miles and then walked the rest all in 24 hours. Enjoyed it and wanted to go back and do it at a more leisurely pace. Was disappointe...

Re: Meall Mor from Inverlochlarig

Did the same route almost 4 years to the day after your trip. Really enjoyed the walk in but the climb up to Meall Mor through long & very wet grass was tough. Not as lucky as you with the views at the top - some glimpses now and again as the cloud moved around, so appreciated your photos. Desce...

Beinn Dearg in November

A dry, partly cloudy November day. Perfect for a drive up to, & walk from, the car park at the end of the road up Glen Artney. Beinn Dearg was my choice and I followed the route previously posted by wjshaw2, so I won't rehash it. Although the walk starts and finishes on decent paths, most of it ...

Re: Meall Reamhar & Meall nan Caorach

Area between the A822 and the bridge on the track to Girron widened considerably for works traffic replacing pylons, so plenty of parking space available. Cracking half day walk with wonderful views all round.

Re: Beinn Mhic Chasgaig, Glen Etive Corbett, ACCESS?

Hi. Climbed this today (18 October 2015) - no problems with access across the bridge though some of the railings on the side of the bridge were missing. Followed detour markers and bypassed the cottage. Weather great for this time of year with stunning long distance views from the top.
