Saying cheerio to Al

Spreading Al's ashes up Morven, he wanted them spread up Morven looking to loch Davan and loch Kinord. I was accompanied by school friend Callum. Sad but we did it old boy.

Eastern Europeans and a Scot on the Forcan Saddle

I have been rather dormant in terms of visiting the site and writing reports on the very few walks I have done. The weight is piling on and the get and go to actually get out is not there. Even the dogs are wondering what the hell is going on  I write this report with glowing reference to 5 w...

Beinn Sgritheall

Just myself and the dogs met 6 others coming down. A fine hill with great views into Knoydart. Felt like if we fell off this hill we'd land on the car

Only took about half a dozen pictures of the day

The Lovers Walk - Peterculter

Lovely flat walk with my wife and kids along the River Dee at Peterculter. Dog friendly.

We took a West to East clockwise route - this is the walk along the old Deeside railway line

Fraser's first wee Hill

We all needed some much needed exercise after the festive period and with my wife taking the wee one away to meet her friends for coffee me and Fraser joined my dad, niece and nephew for a jaunt up Scotly Hill near Banchory. Amazingly I had never done this wee cracker. Started off from the woodland ...

The Eighe'r

First report in a while. An ever growing family, new job and other commitments meant i only managed one Munro last year and it wasn't even a new one - a repeat of Lochnagar for the umpteenth time, not that it was a hassle as it's a fine walk. Changes were needed so with a less stressful and time con...

Mamores no more

Cracking day with the dogs. Nutter season driving through Rannoch moor and Glencoe - loonies everywhere. Felt it on the knees in the descent, its hell of a rough coming down. Ace views of Glencoe and the giants of the Nevis range. IMG_9645.JPG IMG_9647.JPG IMG_9648.JPG IMG_9652.jpg IMG_9654.JPG IMG_...

Re: The Scotsman & the birds - making hay while the sun shin

I nearly did these two last Friday (Easter Friday) but ended up in the Mamores. A good insight into what to expect though  I know the struggle of Juggling work and family, it has meant the hills have taken a back seat this last year for me but as Fast Eddie said at the end of The Colour of Mon...
