Re: Galloway Ring of fire, 30 peaks.... all 3 ranges

Wow! What an epic trip and a great report. Most of my walking is done in the Galloway hills and I love that I can be out all day and not see anyone. I'm used to the pathless wet terrain, tussocks and bogs but I wouldn't be brave enough to tackle some of the terrain you fought your way through! Well ...

Re: To Páramo or not to Páramo?

I don't have a Bentu but have a Paramo Fuera windproof smock which I think is made of the same material. It's my go to outer layer for most of the year, I just vary the base layer(s) depending on the temperature. In the warmer months I'll just wear a short or long sleeved base layer, and in the wint...

Re: More Bynack..ered knees by the end !

Great report - really enjoyed reading that and what fabulous weather you had. I've got a fair-weather dog too, frustrating isn't it. Any sign of rain and she sits down and sulks - which isn't much use in these parts! :)

Re: Last Donald - Cairnsmore of Fleet

Congratulations!
At the rate I'm going I reckon it'll take me several decades to finish them too - and I haven't got the excuse of doing lots of bigger ones in between! :)

Re: Ben Donich - good enough to convert me??

Well what can I say that looked like a stunning day, many more of the same can I hear you say? great photographs on a cold crispy dry day what could be better. Thanks Rodmeister ~ I wonder if too much of that sort of weather would get boring after a while? Glad you enjoyed it Jane - it...

Thanks Tim. I agree the south west of Scotland is lovely - and a great place to get away from it all :)

Re: Ben Donich - good enough to convert me??
