Seaside saunter with dogs

A windy, but sunny winter's day on the coast (I'm blaming the wind for it taking us more than 4 hours to complete the walk). We parked at the square (no charge) and used the public toilets, please donate as volunteers care for them. It's a lovely square and we were a bit distracted by window shoppin...

Re: Any beavers around here? Walk with dogs.

Thanks for sharing - lovely photos too. I did this walk last autumn, but I went from the beaver info centre past the smaller loch to the north, then a there-and-back along the east side of the loch. So I didn't see the abandoned village, but I saw plenty of evidence of the beavers. Hope to do this ...

Any beavers around here? Walk with dogs.

We parked at the car park mentioned in the wall description, but you can also make the walk from a nearby car park. This car park was good sized and empty, with a few picnic tables. $matches[2] $matches[2] You soon reach the abandoned village which is well worth a visit, and a chance to put on your ...

An excellent walk for dogs and humans

It started off as a nice, sunny winter's day and so we were ready for a long walk with the dogs. It was their birthday too, not that we think they ever realised, despite extra treats and new toys. $matches[2] There's a good sized car park at the start of the walk. We walked back up the narrow road w...

A (hidden) gem for dogs and humans

I write this almost a month after having walked it, so my memory may have faded a little, but it was such a surprisingly good walk that it's worth noting. First of all the car park needs to be bigger, it was busy, but we did go on a Sunday so what did we expect? We noted that there were no bins in t...

Belated Birthday Walk (with dogs)

IMG_20211016_115401.jpg There were 7 slightly hungover adults and 2 sprightly dog rearing for fresh air and a slight wind to blow the cobwebs away. We started following the walk description through the dunes, but rather soon our leader decided it would be nicer to walk along the beach. One of our d...

Beach day with the dogs

What a glorious day to be beside the seaside, still warm in late September and dramatic clouds moving fast across the sky. The views across the firth were beautiful and atmospheric, what a stunning place. I'd brought my binoculars, but couldn't see any dolphins, a lot of seabirds though. The dogs we...

An adventure through woodland and moorland with dogs.

We had planned to do a lightweight camp along this route, but a member of the party had forgotten their sleeping bag, so that never happened, but the walk did. IMG_20210920_143440.jpg It's a brilliant walk, Loch Migdale is well worth it on its own. The first stage of the walk you encounter some over...

A dog-friendly amble through the forest

We had some grand plans to do a much longer walk today, but one of our dogs took ill during the night and was feeling a bit ruff, so we opted for an easier one. The car park suggested there was a fee to pay, but we couldn't find where, maybe it had been removed? The walk description was easy to foll...

A Fine Summer's Walk

We drove out in the afternoon and parked in what didn't really look like a car park, more like a lay-by. It was a bit warm and white clouds created nice, moving shadows across the landscape. We had both our dogs on the lead as the fields looked they could contain livestock, most of the fields didn't...
