Beinn Mheadhoin, Ben Macdui and Derry Cairngorm

our_route.gpx We started walking around 9:15am. The weather was mostly clear, but we did have a few short showers. At one point we decide to put on the waterproofs, only to have to take them off 5 minutes later because it was dry again and was too hot! It was a very long walk in before we started c...

Re: One Pap and an escape to Paradise

mrssanta wrote:That was lovely! we set off once up the paps with children but got as far as the lochan and had a picnic instead. They are tougher than you would think for their size.

Thank you. Yes, looking at them on the 2nd day -when we could actually see them, they look impossible!

One Pap and an escape to Paradise

our_route.gpx On Tuesday morning it was raining, but the forecast was saying it should dry up by late morning. We didn't worry about starting too early, since the plan was to walk the Paps -a 9-10 hour walk, but we were to camp overnight. DSC00076b.jpg We started in the light drizzle, but we though...

Re: The Aonach Eagach

Amazing report and photos. I was opposite you on Bidean Nam Bian that day and we were looking at the Aonach Eagach, thinking it was a perfect day for it -clearly it was :-)

Re: Birthday Walk up Beinn Na lap

It's probably one of the easiest munros you could do.... in summer you could easily get the train through, walk up and be back in time to catch the train home. Just beware the midges! :?

Re: Perfect day in Glencoe

Wow, I was there 4 years later to the day! Another perfect day, only with a lot more snow :-) It's nice to see what it looks like without the snow. See my walk report from yesterday if you like :)

A Perfect Winter's Day for Meall a' Bhuiridh and Creise

We left Stirling at 7am, which meant we got to Glencoe at 9am. It was clear, crisp and cold and the late Autumn/Winter colours were at their best. 2015-11-22 10.18.27 1.jpg We started up the path leading up from behind the Ski Centre and followed it underneath the ski lift. 2015-11-22 10.23.50 2.jpg...

Culter Fell in the Wake of Storm Abigail

We had planned to do Sguith Chuil today, but in light of the abysmal weather forecast thanks to Storm Abigail (high winds with wind chill feeling like -16, excessive rain, sleet, hail and possibly lightening), instead of staying at home, we decided to head South in the hope that the stormy weather w...

Re: Sgiath Chuil - way more cool than being in school!

Hi, A group of us attempted Sgiath Chuil and Meal Glas about a month and a half ago, but unfortunately turned back before the top of Sgiath Chuil due to pretty extreme wind and decided to leave it for another day rather than get blown off the hill! So we are attempting it again this Sunday. Wanted t...
