Re: The Mullardoch 12 in a day
Thanks, that's an excellent description of the walk with really good practical advice. I wouldn't be able to complete that in a day so it'll have to be a "fast and light" overnighter (without much "fast" I'm afraid!), hopefully next May/June.

Re: Off-piste on Maoile Lunndaidh
Think it’s the only Munro where the Munro summit isn’t the highest point on the hill (certainly according to hill bagging). Myself and David Main followed the right hand shoulder up but don’t remember any scrambling Not really scrambling, just a very steep climb and working the way through small ro...

Off-piste on Maoile Lunndaidh
Why do we write walk reports? Many reasons I suspect, recording a wonderful day on or around the hills, or passing on useful information to others etc. This report sits in both of those categories I suppose, some nice photos, and to record route information which may be useful to others, ie don't do...

Re: In full view of the Devil's Elbow
and then the familiar to many Glas Maol bowl usually corniced in the winter. I did the Glenshee eastern four in the May after the "Beast from the East" and remember walking across that bowl from the last Munro, heading towards the ski centre, and looking up to see a mahoosive overhanging ...

Easing lockdown with an Atholl amble
2020 ... the year of turning 60 and retiring after 42 years as a medic with lots of trips planned, mostly involving the Highlands, to make the most of this new found luxury called free time. And then COVID19 came along to keep us all firmly under wraps. My services were not required back on the fron...

Re: WH Summer Meet - Inverie - 10-12 July 2020
Well as I had to miss Bearnock, and will miss Glencoe, it would be exceptionally rude to miss this one too, count me in please Jax.
Presumably there's somewhere to leave cars in Mallaig?

Octoberfest: sun and snow on superb Achnashellach Munros
A bit slow off the mark with this, work and lurgy have slowwwwwwed me down ... but it's worth sharing (I hope) because of the sheer fabulousness of the day we had (we = me and the dog, Maisie). This was the First of October, early autumn at it's crisp and golden finest. The previous couple of days h...
