Re: Most Bizarre Thing You’ve Seen on a Hill..?

I won't say where, or when, for our strangest experience on a hill. Sitting at a summit on a hot summers day, we saw three people heading towards us- two males and a female, talking amongst themselves and counting down their steps so they reached the summit together. Nothing strange there, except th...

Re: Best Munro In The Dark??

Buachaille Etive Beag, Glen Etive by moonlight- perfection ! Not particularly difficult as long as you stay left at the bifurcation on the path- small cairn.

No probs on Tuesday, even though it was raining heavily for a fair amount of the walk.

Re: Glen Loin

I walked it the day before you with the dogs- in the rain, snow, wind and sunshine! Met two ladies after the dam, and a man about 5min after, but mostly we had it to ourselves. A great wee walk to pass a couple of hours, and not too far from home. Rain- http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3814/12329058894...

Re: Ben Ledi Conditons

We were up Benvane - further along the Ledi ridge,on Sunday, and the last 100m, or so, were hard snow- at one point considered crampons, as it was difficult to kick more than adequate steps ( at times ). I would suspect there are more than adequate footprints to walk in- on Ledi, but would still ens...

Re: Hill of (Mi-)Stake

A great hill in fine conditions  Have been up there on several occasions- about 5mls from my house, in a variety of conditions-some very deep bogs between HoS and Misty Law   These hills were used for honing navigational skills as there are a multitude of tops to bounce around on...

On the shores of Loch Awe

I suppose it's been a while since I last hit my digits off the keyboard and wrote a report. The weather, time off from work and lack of cash due to dogs, car etc, put pay to a few walks we had planned. This particular little foray into the white wilderness was planned only a couple of days ahead. We...

Re: Beinn An Lochain wows us in the sunshine

It is indeed a fine, and rather majestic hill to climb. So many fine views from the summit, be it day light or dark :-). I have climbed it in both dark, and snowy conditions- and it just fills me with pleasure as the characteristics of the hill are so different depending on the time of year. Climb i...

Re: Quinag (Spidean Coinich) A week in Assynt in early Septe

Could never tire of walking around these three hills- a gem of a walk, vistas a plenty and they take every ounce of energy from you for the pleasure gaining all the summits. What more could you ask for, well except some fine photographical images to take home as memories
