Re: England & Wales 3,000 Footers

Just out of interest (not suggesting any extra features on your site!) what list do you go by ? ie. The Wainwrights are a list of 214 hills in the lake district, the majority are worth climbing some aren't but the list is regardless of height just the authors opinion - it has never changed. With the...

Re: All New Where's the Pic - England!

Have you bought him the Kinect thing ? From what I've heard you may never see your kids again (until they want food, money or a lift! - in no particular order). Haven't had any input from Mountain Coward. Where has she disappeared to? She got an abusive/agressive reply to a fairly innocent comment s...

Re: Dartmoor - A Widecombe Round

Don't blame me fedup, I only live here. I didn't create the word 'Grockel'. I'm sure Devon and Cornwall aren't the only places that have an inter-county rivalry. For instance, the Cornish refer to Devon folk as 'Janners' and I don't think that's a term of endearment either. And don't get me started...

Re: Another Orchy Double - Dorain & Dothaidh

Great pics as usual Dooterbang - may have to do these soon, there's been loads of reports on these two recently and they look great hills - always had a good look from the road. You mention you expected muddy terrain - are they best left for when the ground is frozen? Have you guys had a fresh fall ...

Re: Dartmoor - A Widecombe Round

Grockel is not a term of endearment. It’s a mocking expression. Dartmoor is in Devon and no Devonian would thank you for referring to it as Cornwall. They're very touchy about that sort of thing down here. You make it sound a very opinionated place houdi - I'm sure there must be some people in that...

Re: Dartmoor - A Widecombe Round

And I thought he'd had Ann Widdicombe round .........for tea or something. Or even gone round ann widdicome. Quite a journey that would be :o I had to read it twice  Looks an interesting place! When I used to have to travel into the lakes to work, a normal 11 minute car journey could take 45 o...

Re: Black Fell,Grey Nab and Melmerby Fell

Colregg, I'm hoping the cost of the van & its conversion will pay for itself! Taking into count what I pay for cottages, campsites etc. In the family I've got a mechanic, electrician, a welder, and a joiner as mate- so I've got free advice if I get stuck !!! If your interested I'll put some pics...
