Heads in the Clouds Ben Lawers & Beinn Ghlas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0vLSnkECFg Feel free to check out the video, but if not the report is below... So it was a sunny day (finally) and with uni exams well and truly over we thought we'd squeeze in a couple of munros before heading to Thailand. We got up at 4:30am and began the long 2.5h...

Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Lovely report & photos Chloeeh. Shame about the same cliché group of WH users that spoil the forums with their unnecessary comments. Unfortunately this seems to be the norm these days on WH. Thanks! :) Glad you like it. Yes I was quite surprised by the amount of nasty comments but oh well! It's...

Re: Yay for Plant Power!!

So Chloeeh - good on you for waving the vegan standard up the hills - whatever folk have to say about health benefits, there's simply no argument about a vegan lifestyle being a more compassionate and more environmentally responsible way to live. :D Thanks for your kind and thoughtful response :D T...

Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

What route did you take to bag these Chloeeh? Just the standard quite boring route straight up then back down, then across the loch and up the other one. I've heard that the circular route around the loch taking in a Corbett is nice but we thought the shorter one would be better since we had a long...

Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Good video and pics. You might be fighting a losing battle with the healthy lifestyle thing though. Most hill people are alcoholics who live on junk food.................. or is that just me? PS is Mr Spock the most famous Vegan ever? :D The amount of calories you burn hill walking I think ...

Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

What do you wear on your feet? The bit of the video at about 4:50 appears to show boots that are quite leathery-looking, but presumably that's just a blurring thing with the motion and they're actually man-made plasticky boots. These are very old boots that I bought and used before I was vegan, the...

Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Nice report and photos. - But I can't see the point of announcing to the world that you are vegans. It makes as much sense as me writing a report entitled "One Gregg's pie eater up Dumyat." I was also going to question the Vegan thing. It's weird how vegans always like to announce the fac...

Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_dIYTtV_r8 Feel free to watch the youtube video of our climb above ^^ Because of work and uni we haven't been out on the hills since January so this day out was much needed. We got up at 5:30am and did the long 3 hour drive down to Loch an Daimh. The weather was supp...

Breezy day on Buachaille Etive Beag

So this is our 3rd and 4th Munro we've done this week, not bad going! 35th & 36th over all in the last 9 months. Taking advantage of the last of our time off before going back to work and univeristy on Monday :( We had a quick look at the weather forecast and noticed it was nice pretty much ever...

Re: Spectacular Sunrise and Inversion on Fionn Bheinn!

What a coincidence  yeah we saw quite a few people coming up behind us. If you saw a woman with a bright red jacket then it was probably me! That's an excellent panoramic. We were tempted to climb the Graham as well but the bogs put us off. Glad you got to enjoy the great weather as well! :D we...

Spectacular Sunrise and Inversion on Fionn Bheinn!

So after climbing Ben Lomond 2 days prior in the cold and rain we decided to follow the good weather and headed up to Achnasheen. We didn't fancy anything too challenging as I'm still recovering from a cough so Fionn Bheinn seemed like the best option in that area. We stayed in a little Air BnB at t...

Taking Ben Alligin by the horns.

The first 2 of our West coast munros, after a failed attempt at Moruisg in February. I checked the weather report and finally there was some sun! So we made the 4 hour drive over and camped out at Torridon under the big scary Liathach. After getting eaten alive by midges we had a big breakfast at th...
