Re: Ben Lomond via Ptarmigan

magicdin, there were two groups walking out of Barisdale on Sunday -- one group of three guys (I think they said they were from Manchester) and the four of us (three guys and a girl). I seem to remember passing one walker on the way out - were you alone? This was just before you would reach the fina...

Ben Lomond via Ptarmigan

So this time I was off to do the most popular munro, Ben Lomond. Not to go up the tourist path, we chose to go via Ptarmigan ridge and come down the tourist path. our_route.gpx Going up this way we get really nice views of the Arrochar Alps. The Cobbler in particular is very prominent. Also, looking...

Ladhar Bheinn from Barisdale

our_route.gpx So I was off to Knoydart on Friday evening hoping to do Ladhar Bheinn, supposedly one of the finer hills in Scotland. We parked at Kinloch Hourn on Friday night and walked in to Barisdale bothy, arriving there just after 2am. The walk in is only about 8km but the path is very very bog...

Re: Glen Feshie munros

How did you get back to your car though? Ah yes, the problem is that we didn't finish at the same car park where we started. However, this was a hillwalking club trip, so we had someone waiting for us at the end to take us back to our car. I should say that the car park where we started doesn't all...

Glen Feshie munros

The plan was to take in as many munros around Glen Feshie as we could, and in the end we bagged six. The initial ascent to Mullach Clach a'Bhlair was on fairly steep ground (although it was on a very good path) and also in the rain so unfortunately I couldn't take any photos. After taking in Mullach...
