Re: Pillow talk

My biggest issues with pillows has been the size. I need a decent size of pillow or no sleep for me. Best I've found so far was a Vango 'self inflating' (aye right) one from argos Only £4.99 but the don't seem to do them anymore. When only partially inflated was still nice and soft. Its not light (a...

Re: Outdoor Clothing Brands

Personally I think North face sucks and is more suited as a fashion label than an outdoor one, but then I've been tainted by bad experiences with their stuff. I love my sherpa jacket, and my old berghaus one put in an impressive shift before I replaced it. The north face one has been on about 4 trip...

Re: Walking in Patagonia

Now you've made me exceptionally jealous! I only had 4 days in El Chalten (too many places, too little time and strangely staying too long in Cordoba) could happily have stayed for much longer. I was one of those annoying day tourists tho! I sympathise with the Patagonian weather. Makes you apprecia...

Re: what fuel for a trangia?

That bio fuel is near impossible to light with a fire steel when you forget a lighter
I had to start a small fire to light it last time (on a beach, don't worry)

Re: perhaps an inappropriate ? but...

I'll put in a pitch for the far north west. Plenty plenty fishing around scourie (fishing gear available at petrol station and fishing licenses cheap or for free in the sea), and plenty seafood available. Plus the lochinver pie shop! 8) Plenty walking opportunities in hills or low level. Definitely ...

I look down on her, because she stares at stolen cows,
I look up to her, because she has the shepherds eye.
But I, AD, have a beery cave. :D

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

The only thing that springs to mind is Dingwall, it being the former Norse 'capital' in Scotland.
But its not really an island. Different planet sometimes, but not island.

Wild Country Coshee

Anyone have any experience of this tent? At the moment I'm pondering getting a lighter 1 man tent as at the moment I just have an oldish vango 2 person tent that comes in at around 2.6kg. Tiso are doing 20% off tents for card holders at the mo and have the coshee 1. Also they have vango helix 100. B...

Re: Gloves

I had sealskinz gloves.
Most useless piece of gear I've ever bought. Actively absorbed water rather than repel it and not warm in the slightest.
