Re: Bicycle confusion
As far as I can tell, although I do want to cycle on roads I probably don't want a road bike, and although I don't want to cycle on mountains I possibly do want a mountain bike. Or then there's something called a hybrid bike, which is not at all the same as a hybrid car. Can anyone explain this to ...

Re: Walking boots for wide-ish feet.
I wear Altberg (size x-wide) all day (12+ hrs) at work and they are as comfy in hour 12 as hour 1.

Re: Advice please on backpack brand & L size.
Go and try in store though, what seems on paper like it may be a good fit may for whatever reason have a seam or join in a particular place that just does not suit you.
Osprey may still (c19 permitting) do a thermal fitting in some shops??

Re: Stay at home
Coronavirus: Exercise out of the home 'could be banned' if people flout rules https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52172035 That sounds like an exercise in blaming the public for government failings. Setting aside my personal feelings on the subject, professionally speaking from the perspective of someone...

Re: Stay at home
Ironically there are a group of people that you can't get out of the house to do an honest days work normally; I'm sure for the next 4 days if the weather holds in the north east of England I'm going to have my hands full at work getting them back in!

Re: Stay at home
madprof, I'm not denying it is different, clearly it is very different. I'd been considering it last week until I saw a post by Cumbria Police, several days before the "lockdown" begun and realised what a simple trip west actually meant. Again you say explicitly encouraged. Well that depen...

Re: Stay at home
rab, I wish I lived in a place like you do. Memories of many summers spent in the north of Scotland around Muir of Ord and Shieldaig in particular when I was younger I'll never forget. I live around 80 minutes from the Lakes in Gateshead, so more often than not get my fix there. Last week I was plan...

Re: Stay at home
No wish to cast aspersions or anything like that but.... ...it just seems to me from looking at various online sites and on the TV that some people seem to be spending their time trying to find ways of getting round the rules and justifying what they want to do. Instead why do people not just start...

Re: Stay at home
Living in the Highlands I'd have trouble staying away. With something like 500 square miles of empty land (quite literally) on the doorstep I won't be putting anyone else at risk by not confining myself indoors. Maybe not, unless you injure yourself to the point of needing rescue, requiring others ...
