Get the train to Corrour from Glasgow, walk from Corrour towards Spean Bridge, straightforward route along a good track, you could detour off track and stay in Staoinaig bothy then continue onto Spean bridge for the train back to Glasgow or stay on track and stay in the Lairig Letach bothy aka Stob ...

Re: Abyssinia Bothy

Spent a night there last week, very comfortable. The separate bedroom has been put in and the bunks could sleep 8 easily. Fire still needs done and this is planned for the future. Given its location its probably going to become one of the busier bothies as word gets out....

Re: Descent from Macdui to Lairg Ghru

Thanks folks, really useful info. from there we would be heading for Corrour bothy for an overnight then up onto Devils Point to Braeriach traverse and back to the ski centre. Going off Carn a mhaim sounds like a good option as well especially if needed or time allows

Descent from Macdui to Lairg Ghru

Planning a two day walk mid April in the Cairngorms, just wondering what the best descent route is from Ben Macdui into the Lairg Ghru - is it down via Coire Clach nan Tailler and if so what's that route like bearing in mind there may still be some snow?

Re: Wild Camping the Clyde Walkway

I know most of the walkway from Motherwell to Lanark, the path hugs the river almost all the way with livestock fields on its left and water on its right...... though I'm sure if your only packing a small tent you will find some suitable spots, though they will be close to the path.

Re: 2 day walk with bothy half way

I once did a route from Tulloch Station over the two Essian munros of Loch Treig to Stob Ban bothy, then the next day over Stob Ban and a route to Staoinag Bothy (you also pass Meannach Bothy en route) We had planned on going over the Grey Corries but the weather prevented us and was probably too am...

Re: Questions about the Munros above Culra Bothy

Why don't you combine the two walks, leave the bikes at Culra, do the Ben Alder 2 then overnight in Ben Alder Cottage bothy, then do the Anoch Beag 4 and come down behind Culra for the bikes...did this a couple of years ago, great trip.

Re: more dog friendly munros

Never saw any cattle on the Glen Lyon Munros, a few random sheep though. No stiles to worry about.

Re: Hill walking and dogs.

There`s nothing better than being on the hills with yer dug, just make sure its recall is good. You will know when you can let it off or not, just enjoy it.
