Re: Access from Dalwhinnie station

Am I correct in assuming that nothing has changed since the last post in this thread (July last year)? I am hoping to cycle in and camp at some point in June.

Re: The Longer the Road the Greater the Reward

Really enjoyed your report, fantastic effort! Sunrise like that is so special.

I'm looking to bike in as the old knees need the least amount of hammer possible. Would you say that there are more downs than ups on the return, 50/50, or nightmare scenario, more ups than downs?!

Cheers

Inov8 Roclite Pro G 400 boots

Hi Folks;
Has anyone any experience of these boots? With old, dodgy knees I'm looking to go as light as possible on my feet but wondered about how robust and durable these are? Any info gratefully received!

Re: Sun damage...

Hope it isn't malignant. I have had quite a few of these things on my back, head and tops of ears. Fortunately all have been BCC's (Basal Cell Carcinomas) which were taken off and are benign. Comes with the 'territory' I guess! I too have invested in a Tilley hat.

Re: Will poles help my knees?

My 63 year old knees have been reminding me of the abuse I have given them over the years for a while now, and so I bought a pair of Alpkit poles. What a difference! They not only take a load off and cushion descents but they really do help going uphill in terms of getting a rhythm going, and are th...

Anyway.

Is that big rabid dug still there.
S**t myself and was so glad it had a muzzle on."

We did these two hills last week and had to change underpants courtesy of the Hound of the Baskervilles! :shock:

Creag Riabhach wind farm at Altnaharra

I may be a 'Sassenach' but as one with a deep love of wild places I am appalled by the news that permission for 20 huge turbines to be built up there has been granted. The damage done by the infrastructure of these wind farms is irreversible and the visual impact nothing short of aesthetic vandalism...
