Cluanie to Glen Affric

Looking for a wee bit of advice here. Planning going from Cluanie to Glen Affric . Went by An Caorann Mor last time but it was a bit of a bog fest. Noticed on the map that there is a zig zag path heading up Coire a Chait to the Bealach Choire a Chait. Has anyone ever used this route before and if so...

Re: Bla Bheinn - another Englishman's cairn in the bag

John Joe, I understand where you are coming from re the crowds and tourist vans. I live on Skye and have not even tried to get into Glenbrittle during the summer for a while now. Things tend to get quieter when Autumn kicks in and we often have some good spells of weather then so don't let the summe...

Morvich to Cannich returning via Loch Mullardoch

Looking for some advice. Planning Morvich to Cannich then returning via the north shore of Loch Mullardoch. Is there a path on the north shore that can be used ?

Re: Boreraig, Suisnish and Strath

I enjoyed your report on Borreraig. My Grandfather was brought up in the house you photographed . The 1901 census shows 6 people living there at the time. They were the only family in Borreraig then, my Great Grandfather being a shepherd for the estate . Although an idyllic spot life was very hard f...

Re: Sgurr na Stri, Skye - The Best View in Britain

Great report, one of my favourite spots. Watching the sun coming up and filling the Coruisk bowl is not to be missed. Hope the aches and pains have cleared up , getting those photo shots make it worth while.

Re: Summit Camping on Sgurr na Stri - The Stuff of Dreams

Brilliant report and photo's. Been lucky enough to camp there twice in superb weather. Personally I don't think there is a better view. I would encourage anyone thinking about camping there to go for it , just make sure the weather is on your side.

Water on South Glenshiel Ridge

I am planning an overnight on the South Glenshiel Ridge and trying to do this as light as possible. Can anyone let me know if there are any spots on the ridge where I could get water, I have seen a couple of videos and there appears to be small lochans around Sgurr an Lochan. Any help would be much ...

Re: Scottish Government approves Lomond camping ban

Matt. In the difficult situation you and the police officer were in I dont see how a camping ban would help. The situation it seems would have panned out the same. Some fairly serious offences were comitted there. Was anyone brought to justice? Is that the usual outcome? If so there is little point...

Re: An easy walk they said......

Excellent photo`s , I especially like the one where it looks like you are descending Am Bodach. Did the Aonach Eagach about 4 weeks ago for the first time and enjoyed it thoroughly, the weather was on our side that day which helped.

Re: Best wild campsite...

In my limited experience, this will take some beating (by me at least)... https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-YIYwWtzY338/UVi8Vv96gAI/AAAAAAAACVM/eNEG9CJUwu0/s800/102_2271.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z4aAA89EMG4/UVi8hjTkGkI/AAAAAAAACVo/DPyUW6k12KU/s800/102_2289.JPG https://lh5.googleuserc...
