I did the same walk (from the village - without cheating and walking up the road) on the same day. Started from the village at ~8:00am. Although I didn't think hill walking was a competion, Why didn't you want to be overtaken by the man and his collie, were you in a time trail?

I think it's unfair on Both Keswick (or the lakes in general) and Scotland to compare then in this way. The Lakes is very beautiful and due to it's size and location it is very busy. Therefore it has the passing trade to accomodate everyones tatse and budget. Scotland can be hit an miss with regard ...

Agree. A top twitcher friend of mine always said, " you don't think you've seen an eagle, you know you've seen an eagle"

Have come across many out and about I can verify this, if the is any doubt then in all probability it isn't.

In terms of the hills I'd say the 2 munros are near the bottom of the pile interest-wise. I'd climb Quinag, Suilven, Ben Mor Coigach, Stac Pollaidh, Beinn an Eoin, Cul Mor and Cul Beag of a preference. Obviously if you're a munro bagger then hill quality takes a back seat to list placement, but if ...
