Re: Bus Price Anomalies

Counter point - if the bus stops already stops in Ballachulish, and you've paid to go to Fort William then you can get off at any stop you please, you've already paid for the longer journey. Frankly I say go for it. Edit - would also like to say you've got no responsibility to tell the bus driver an...

Re: Dog Hill Etiquette.

I think it’s fairly typical outwith ground nesting bird season and areas not used for livestock grazing to have a dog off lead if they’re generally under control (ie. You’ve got confidence in their recall). As far as cliffs and terrain go, you know your own dog but they do not to build up their ski...

Re: Dog Hill Etiquette.

One point to remember is that if your dog is out of control around livestock, then the farmer is legally entitled to shoot it in order to protect his animals. Yes. Please do this. My family are dairy farmers and I have seen the fallout for this and its extremely unpleasant as you'd imagine and I on...

Re: Dog Hill Etiquette.

I have acquired a couple of dogs to look after for a while. I'm a bit confused about the etiquette and laws regarding dogs out on the hills. I've noticed lots of signs saying dog must be on a lead due to livestock, but in the cairngorms also see these signs due to nesting birds and reindeer, but I'...

Nice. That looks a decent spot. Unfortunately I want to try and do Seana Bhràigh as well so camping down low would be a better option. But will keep this in mind if I don't do the others,

Beinn Dearg 4 munros camping

Hi folks, Question for people that have done the Beinn Dearg 4 circuit. This one: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/ullapool/beinndearg.shtml Can you recall if there is anywhere suitable to camp on the route up? Was considering walking up through the forestry at the start and camping at the other side...

Re: Glen Shiel buses/parking - Five Sisters of Kintail

I've read a couple of helpful threads (of various ages) about this, just wanted to check a few things especially about parking. There are enough unpredictable things to get in the way of a nice walk, so I don't want my lack of planning to be another one! I want to walk east to west for the views. T...

Re: A82 - safe to walk from Crianlarich?

Please don't quote me on this, and definitely check it out, but I think there might be a track on the north side of the road (the Loch Dochart side). Near the Ben more lodge.

Re: Lightweight base layer advice

I use under armour stuff. Light, does the whole moisture wicking thing and they are quite roomy. (I get a large, I'm 5'11 with a 41" chest). Only real issue is the cuffs aren't as loose as the rest of it (I'm also assuming your gender here, so apologies for that!)
