Moine Path

Moine Path.gpx We were staying at Kinloch Lodge for a weeks fishing, but there was no water in the river and we were getting fed up with no fish. The attractions of a walk were overwhelming, even if the weather wasn't that great. The lodge had marked on the large map something called 'Moine path' w...

Wow - what an amazing day. You must be hyper fit. The grey corries are next on my list - they look wonderful from your pics.

Re: Dun Da Lamh

Yes, it is the same. Wonderful place for an overnighter and you probably wouldn't see the TV mast as it would have been behind you and lower down. I'm told this is where the Home Guard used yo watch at night for fires/ booms or whatever else they did. Wonderful in summer - not so great in winter. :D

Dun Da Lamh

2012-06-03 at 09-06-29.jpg This is my default walk when I feel the need to get out of the strath, but only have a limited time and can't face dealing with sheep! I have done this route in all weathers and every time it is different. For a short route you can really get your heart racing if you push...

Re: Death threat and split pants on Beinn Eighe

Looks like a wonderful day. I loved this hill. I took my 2 setters up Ben Eighe and they had a ball, but did it the other way round to you. Either way the stone chute is hard work. It did mean the 2 dogs had worn off most of the bounce so were more amenable to being sensible on the top. DSCF0828.jpg...

Pylons - Laggan to Dalwhinnie

pylons3.jpg The effect of the preparatory work for the new pylons is really starting to make itself felt in the landscape. The following were taken today from the TV mast near Laggan. The road stretches from Feagour towards Dalwhinnie Pylons1.jpg , much of it looks as if it takes the old right of w...

This is Mora (aged 1) on top of her first munro (Carn Dearg) with Torran, her grandmother (aged 8), who has bagged over 50 and Tallis, a close friend and relation (aged 12.5), who has bagged over 100. We had a lovely day walking from our house at Balgowan. I managed 26km goodness knows how many they...
