Painful day, but still a great day!

Aonachs, CMD & Ben Nevis.jpg I left the car park at the end of the Glen Nevis at 7am sharp. It was still a wee bit misty but no rain, so i was hoping for a day in good weather to affront these hills. The path leading up to the ruin is really very straightforward and easy going. Once at the ruin...

Re: Glenfinnan to Inverie the hard way

Great walk indeed. Some fine hills there. About Inverie... the pub isn't what it used to be but Inverie is far from dead off season. The locals gather around all the time, just have to know them ;-)

Re: Glorious Kinloch Hourn but with a very sad ending

It is indeed a great post. And i do understand the doubt after having experienced this sad thing.
One can only hope that the man died of natural cause and in this way died doing what he loved most.
My heart goes out to his family and relatives.

Clouds, wind and drizzle on A' Chralaig

Here i was at the campsite thinking what to do with this kind of weather. Since i didn't feel sitting and doing nothing i decided to go for A' Chralaig and Mullach Fraoch-choire. So we prepared, got in the car and drove towards Loch Cluanie. We took the start of the track at 09h10. We were soon goin...

Beinn Sgritheall at last

This is a munro i've been seeing so many times from the other side of Loch Hourn, so i was really excited that i would finally see it up close 8) So we left around 09h00 from the Shiel Bridge campsite and were ready to start the track that begins just next to the main road at 10h00. A sunny day on Gairich

After the disappointment i had on the other side of Loch Quoich (cancelled 2 out of 3 due to one of the participants) i had my hopes up for a long day. The weather was great and we had planned to go all the way to Sgùrr na Ciche, then come back and camp at An Eag. So we packed our stuff and were rea...

Warming up on Sgurr a' Mhaoraich

In July 2018 I took two people from Belgium with me to have them discover the Highlands. So I didn't really have an idea what to expect. Arriving from Belgium the night before, we camped near the bridge and got up early in the morning because i had planned to do Sgurr a' Mhaoraich, come down...

Re: A'Ghlas Bhein & Fhada

Looks like a great walk to me. Will try to do these to in July. What would you advice me to do? Your roundtrip or the other way around? Cheers.
