Re: Astonishing Assynt: Two nights at Suileag & a Canisp cli

Absolutely superb account Mal, what a trip in too.  The clarity in the photos is incredible.I did Canisp many decades ago when my oldest son was 8 but we did it from the main road side.Cloud came down at the very top, just as you had yourselves.
That pasta dish looked good :D

Re: How to get hill fit - Meall Ghaordaidh & Ben Cruachan

Terrific! That's a great start to revisiting the hills this year - you must still be pretty fit! Never had a view yet from Meall Ghaordaidh :(
Amazing how busy that parking stretch is. Look forward to reading about more of your adventures - I always look out for them.

Re: Over the Sea to Raasay

Excellent photos and descriptions. I remember Sorley MacLean from his cameos on the Munro Show, maybe not what he should be remembered for which I see is more to do with the poetry and use of Gaelic language. Many thanks litljortindan, glad you enjoyed the images and report. Yes, that’s where I fir...

Re: Over the Sea to Raasay

Lovely report and pics. We were looking at Raasay last weekend, Allison was reminding me we still have one Marilyn to do on the island, a rather out of the way one. Dun Caan is a great hill though. Thanks weaselmaster…glad you enjoyed the write up/photos.It’s a cracking wee island to spend time on…...

Over the Sea to Raasay

It had been years since I’d been on Raasay. The last time was for a family get together six years ago for an aunt’s 90th birthday. No time for walks but Chris’s mum had been keen to see more of Raasay so one afternoon, I’d driven her out to the end of the island via Calum’s Road. I just about had a fi...

Re: Skye Mountain Magic

Terrific! Those Cuillin views are out of this world.
Only ever climbed Sgurr na Stri from Camasunary as I’ve always thought the views overall are better on the walk in compared to Glen Sligachan, though it’s a much longer drive round of course.

Re: A Snowy Day on The Storr

Great photos, especially when double zoomed in Flickr. I don't think you get too many opportunities to walk there with such a good covering of snow -must have been great to get those views third time round and with such nice conditions. And better to get those clouds over the sea than just a plain ...

Re: Hart Fell Ridges Horseshoe near Moffat

Beautiful! Very enjoyable read. It’s a long time since I did this round, a terrific (steep at times) walk in lovely scenery.Reminds me a little of Cairngorm, albeit not on that scale overall.

Re: A Snowy Day on The Storr

What astonishing photos! Truly amazing and inspiring - thanks so much for sharing! PS I agree re Storer, I have tried a few of his routes over the years. They are good - but can be a little scary. He often seems to like descending a scramble route - whereas to me, they feel safer in ascent (or are ...
