Re: rannoch 3?

Hi Gordon, Here is my WR from last year - http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=43633 Wasn't drawing routes at that time, but we did Beinn na Lap last, there is a path from the station that leads you west towards Carn Dearg  It is a great day out and the train journey i...

Re: rannoch 3?

No real reason other than wanting to make a weekend of it (one overnight camp on saturday) and not sure train times would really suit that.

rannoch 3?

Hi,
Looking to do 3 Munros, starting and finishing at rannoch station. Happy to use a bike if useful and would like to wildcamp en route. Can't find a route that includes beinn na lap, sgor gaibhre and carn dearg from rannoch. Any help most gratefully received.

Re: Good weather for ptarmigans!

Some fabulous photos here of a great winter walk. Sad to give up a faithful old vehicle but sure you will get many miles of your next one. My reliable German has clocked up close on 150,000 miles and counting!

Re: Glory Gleaned on the Gulvain Grind

Enjoyed this report, like the idea of a beginning, middle and end. When I did this hill it was on a blazing hot day and the walk out seemed distinctly endless :)

Re: Ben Alder and Beinn Bheoil: Crampons versus Jack

Good luck, think you might need to re-sole your feet afterwards  Was reading your report of Sgor Gaibhre and Carn Dearg from Rannoch today as quite fancy something similar this weekend- how long did it take? I fancy walking up to Beinn na lap on Saturday then a camp and walk back via those on ...

Ben Alder and Beinn Bheoil: Crampons versus Jack

Sometime in the depths of winter we had hatched a plan to get wild camping this spring. So after copious internet research, careful financial planning and flogging the family silver, our new home from home had been purchased. With a promising weather forecast, we packed our bags for a springtime exp...

Re: tom a' choinich and toll creagach in winter

Many thanks for the replies which are very helpful and enough for me to reconsider these hills until later in the year. With temperatures to drop and more snow forecast I think it would be much wiser to go for something closer to a main road so now looks like the weekend will consist of Moruisg and ...

tom a' choinich and toll creagach in winter

Hi all, planning on doing this pair and looking for info from anyone who has done them recently or in winter conditions. Is the road to the start point particularly dicey? Also, would 7 hours be a fair estimate for a fit walker going at a moderate and steady pace? I notice there are no winter report...

Re: 2015 Plans?

My target for the year is suitably elusive/ attainable- 57 Munros left. if I get round them all, I'll have had a busy year. The journey is the fun bit though, if I don't reach my target, I'll continue to enjoy the views and company along the way. All the best folks.

Re: How did 2014 go?

I didn't really set a particular target for 2014 but looking back now, I can't help thinking I should have got out a bit more and spent less time doing stupid things like watching Morton play. Managed 33 new Munros, a smattering of Corbetts and a sprinkling of Wainwrights though. Next year: less tor...

Re: It's A Beautiful Day - Beinn Bheula

Enjoyed reading your report, particularly as I was on the hill yesterday and can certainly relate to your experience of descending through the trees. We started quite late, so we navigated down in the dark which was interesting. Beautiful place.
