Tom a’Choinich and Toll Creagach, January 2020

#164 and #165 Set off in overcast snowy conditions, but after 2 hours (at around 700m) the sun broke through and was there most of the time. Extremely windy - the windiest I’ve been in I think. Definitely needed the ski goggles!

Geal Charn, January 2020

#163 Set off late, and didn’t start climb till 12:30. Cold and snow on ground but skies clear. Cloud and blizzard conditions above 750m but all good. Met a climber from Edinburgh called Chris!

Meall Glas, December 2019

#162 Just by myself. Had planned on doing the 2 Munros but the conditions were brutal so turned back after Meall Glas - even getting there was an achievement! Had ice building up on my jacket, ski goggles on, often could only see my hands. Thank goodness for the GPS. Had ice building up on that too ...

Fusherfield Mountains (East 4)

Very, very tiring! My first bothy experience (Shenavall), just me on my own.
Only managed the first 4 summits before running out of daylight. Glad I went though - and I'll just have to go back and do the other 2 another time :-)

Buachaille Etive Beag, October 2019

156 and 157
With Didia - her first 2 Munros! We were lucky with the weather - hardly any wind, and good views. Not sunny or blue sky but very atmospheric. Didia loved it :-)
Relatively easy hike - ideal for first Munro experience.

Bidean nam Bian and Stob Coire Sgreamhach September 2019

#154 and 155 Met Kev and Alan at 6:15am at the Charwood. We drove up but got stuck in a traffic jam for 40 minutes between Crianlarich and Tyndrum! Weather was changeable - there was a bit of rain on the way up to Stob Coire nan Lochan, but it eased off by the time we got to Bidean nam Biam, and the...

Eastern Fannichs, August 2019

Quite a hot day with plenty of midges! I was exhausted by the 4th Munro, maybe partly dehydration. Did the whole route in 7 hours though, not bad :-)

Five Sisters of Kintail, July 2019

Drove up with Roberto. Up at 4:30am! Met Kev and Alan at caravan park just before 9am. Started walk just before 10am. Weather good to start with but cloudy at tops and we got rained on after the 3rd "Sister" :-) Dried out eventually though, and we cut down towards the caravan park rather t...

Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis, July 2019

Me, Kev, and Alan S. Very lucky with the weather - no rain at all! Some cloud but mostly sunny, got some amazing photos. Maybe it's because we're more experienced now but the CMD arrete was pretty easy. Met a few folk on CMD, but there were loads of people on Ben Nevis - easily around 50. Also met s...

Carn a' Mhaim and Derry Cairngorm, July 2019

Just myself - was only planning to do Carn a'Mhaim and then head along the arrete and up to Sron Riach, then head back (south) from there. But while there (Sron Riach), Derry Cairngorm just looked too near to not do! Went up 'top' Creagan a' Choire Etchachan first. After Derry Cairngorm I continued ...
