Re: The Easy option

Yes very straight forward, just have to be careful as approach summit ridge , that in cloud, you might not pick up the path across rocky ground. Just take a bearing on that part or use GPS :)

Re: Lost in the bracken

Hi Rockhopper, thanks for your interest :D I have 3 on Skye, so the plan is to get a guide , perhaps May time. I have the Loch Mullardoch four, but the ferry service to the end hasn't been running the last year or two, so I have been looking at ways to split them into two outings  Unless if c...

The bothy and the bike

13 jul 2023.gpx This was a big outing for two “oldies” in their seventies and we didn’t know if we could compete it  We discovered we couldn’t use the walkers car park, as it was needed for preparations for the Highland Games on the Saturday. The nice lady from the estate was very apologetic ...

Re: How to cross the burn in spate?

My mate John and I did this crossing about 4 weeks ago. We had camped by the bridge and done Lunndaidh on the Saturday before requiring to cross it on the Sunday, him heading for the Munros, me for Beinn Tharsuinn. He was first to attempt the crossing. I have a photo of him making a real mess of it...

A hill that lives up to its name.

Maoile Lunndaigh 2023-07-09 20_54_04.gpx The meaning of the the name if this hill is , “bare hill of the wet place.” Well for me it certainly lived up to its name  Very heavy rain the previous day and through the night didn’t make this look a very good outing :( By 10.30 it looked as though i...

Re: The Worst Win

I’ve made some of those mistakes myself, but not all on one hill! As someone who lives in North Wales, I think I’d stick to the Great Orme till your wife has forgotten your outing

Re: The one we missed earlier

Hi Jill, It was great to meet you & have lunch together with Heather :) To be fair it was very dry, it was more the heather impeding progress till we re found the path :D We made good progress after we met you and completed the Cairngorms , with the two from the Spittle of Glenshee. We then move...
