Re: South side of Loch Mullardoch

Going by OS 1:25, mapping you have about 5km of forest from the dam then wet boggy ground not unless you can follow the shoreline.

Re: Bhran Cottage

The stalkers path from Bhran Cottage is fine it is only higher up that it becomes a boggy mess and from the summit to Dalwhinnie it is ok and on a good track for most of the route.

The bridge over the River South Esk that leads to Braedownie is fine, we used this part of the route to access Winter Corrie.

Re: The North Face

Ethnic minorities are welcome on our hills and always have been. Too many people forget the simple fact that many of them aren't interested in the hills but morons like The North Face misinterpret data and cry racism. All The North Face have managed to do is create an issue by making people believe...

Re: Feedback requested: 3-day route Cairngorms

From Corrour Bothy you can take the path that leads to the Lairig Ghru just past the Clach nan Taillear Stone is a small cairn which is the start of a very faint path that leads to the bealach between Carn a'Mhaim and Ben Macdui, it is very hard to notice the cairn and the path up.

Re: Eriskay - can you get there by public transport with a d

Citylink which cover major routes in Scotland will only take guide dogs. When on Skye a woman tried to board the bus at Broadford for Portree with her small dog only to be told that it it is not allowed but allowed her on, but warned her she might not be able to get a bus back if they stick to the r...

Re: You support masts in wild land (allegedly)

At the time i would have been grateful for a mast at Camusrory,Knoydart. My friend bust his ankle while we were crossing a River Finiskaig in spate and it took us about 3hrs getting him to Sourlies Bothy, we left him at Sourlies while we walked 15km to Inverie in dreadful conditions where the owner ...

Re: You support masts in wild land (allegedly)

No doubt they will frame this as 'making hillwalking safer' or some such. I don't want it, half the draw for me is the challenge of being self sufficient and being out of contact. This will ruin the hills for me, never mind the landscape damage. You can still be self sufficient and be out of contac...
