Afternoon run

Nice jog in, good path ll the way to the old cottage by the loch. Fairly steep up the hillside and then a bit of a slog up the final stretch.

CMD arête, CMD and Nevis

Decided to do this as I have done both munros separately and I think the best way is to do together. Parked at usual Nevis Campsite and followed tourist path to the split. Here, I turned left to go round to north face and walked up to the CIC hut. Got some great pics from the valley bottom and on th...

Eastern Alternative

Gutted with the forecast for the west coast today, but theres not much that can be done about it. I decided to pay a visit to the cairngorms having not been there for AGES. I had read a walk taking in Bynak More in a circular route, also including one of the Cairn Gorm tops and A'Choinneach. The wea...

Re: Five Sisters 2nd half of August / Start September

Anywhere without an ensuite and a nice bar is 'wild camping' in my book ha ha.

Forecast for Sunday is looking good so far. Having said that, I will now have jinxed my plans!

Re: Ben Nevis 13 Sep

Hi Jenny, I think the arete would not be a good option if you haven't experienced exposure before. It is the way I am hoping to go up this time. Couple of things for going up: If you are driving there, the car park at the bottom of the walk most folk would use will charge you, £3.50 for the day I th...

Re: Ben Nevis 13 Sep

Hi there, I would like to go via the CMD arête, this is a route that involves exposure for a section between the two munros.

Re: Another windfarm rant

Rudolph, again, same person in industry said its to do with aviation law, they have to be visible. I agree with the point about the pylons, I don't think people realise how big th Denny to beauly line will appear. As an alternative to turbines... We had a good option in my view down in wales, whereb...

Re: Another windfarm rant

6. I have passed Whitelea windfarm (215 turbines) on many occassions and seen few turbines rotating in good wind conditions. The windfarm get huge payments when they are told not to produce because the infrastructure cannot take the load on full production and in no wind conditions they obviously pr...
