Re: Spectacular snow on a favourite Glencoe Corbett

Very nice! This Corbett definitely won big in the lottery to get views like this, especially on a day like that!

Re: Acting the Goat @ 75 - prelude to a mass Arran exodus

Another ripping yarn from Graeme D and congratulations to Jeanette celebrating her 75th climbing Goatfell! As one about to turn 76 I can confirm it's much more of an achievement as the years pile on! Isn't it great when family occasions lend themselves to climbing a new hill? I managed to fi...

Acting the Goat @ 75 - prelude to a mass Arran exodus

What is it about Arran!!!??? There always seems to be some sort of drama involved in me getting there. Or getting away from it. Or both! My wife has been a fairly frequent visitor to Arran over the years but my first visit was only about a decade ago. I can't remember exactly when it was as ...

Re: Two hills with great views southeast of Applecross with

Excellent report with some superb photos. You are going to be keeping kiltedbiggles and myself busy trying to follow in your footsteps with our respective kids. We've only recently reprised your route up Cairn-mon-earn in Aberdeenshire but this is something else to consider!

A very Good Friday in the Shire

I had messaged Allan a few weeks ago to see whether he and his young lad Harris fancied joining Ailsa and myself for a day walk the second week of the Easter fortnight. We would be on Arran for most of the first week but I could do with something to distract Ailsa from her phone for at least one day...

The Mullardoch Redemption

FOREWORD : Just to underline how much this hill has it in for me, I had almost finished this report about a week ago but when I hit the Save Draft button, my laptop crashed and I somehow lost much of what I had written. Life then got really busy for a week or so before I could go back and rewrite i...

Re: If at first you don’t succeed, fail and fail again

"Hasta la vista baby!" as one famous Austrian also said! My own report will be forthcoming in the next few days I hope!

Re: The Saddle

Excellent pictures! I was on An Riabhachan that same day in glorious winter conditions and was planning on doing this route the following day but dropped the idea on account of the Sunday forecast not looking too clever and being stone cold gubbed after my day from the Mullardoch dam.

Re: Unpleasant little Fiona destroyed my phone

The title of this report sounds like an allegation one of my S2s might make against a classmate!    I actually enjoyed this one but then I got the decent weather and views from the summit that you didn't get, and it didn't destroy my phone or any other piece of kit for that matt...

Re: Beinn i'Gloo

I can think of many times where an igloo at the top of a mountain would have been very welcome indeed!

Re: The Great Stone Chute to Sgúrr Alasdair (in sandals)

There had been another London interlude, 3 months of despair on the Central Line, so I quit and went to Edinburgh. It was pure elation to cross the border: bleak weather, Wheaton’s friend Forsyth in from the States with a pair of Chaco sandals and a bag of apples he found on the street, Wheaton him...

Re: A Walk of Three Thirds

I've been enjoying reading about your recent ramblings in this neck of the woods as a wee warm up for bigger routes through the summer months. I've had Hunt Hill on my radar as one to do this spring but never got round to it yet. Quite keen to check that wee bothy out too.
