Re: It can be done in the timescale

Very good report thanks. We are considering the Munro from Corrour and wondering how to fill the day so doing LU is a great idea. Like your report for the detailed basic information and the photos

Re: Help to plan hike in Cairngorms (maybe Sgor Gaoith route

Where do you come off the A9 driving north? Is there a turn off for Kincraig?

Re: Whangie & Devils Pulpit

The whole area has been double yellow lined. Any laybyes are sure to be full. I would suggest get a lift or a taxi or park near Killearn and walk down. It's only a mile or so

Re: Parking Fine at Glen Lyon!!! :-(

The lockdown/staycation has exposed the lack of infrastructure for visitors to Scotland. For too long likes of hillwalkers have had to park at laybyes or on grassy areas. No toilets or other facilities. The local authorities have ignored these issues and now complain that it's the visitors fault. I ...

Creag Meagaidh and Carn Liath

Above distances are miles and feet. This is a good days hillwalking. We did it CLOCKWISE and stress that (hopefully not annoyingly) as it gives you a steady uphill start rather than an immediate steep walk up Liath but more importantly the Window is so much safer going up than coming down. It's very...

Re: West Linton Parking Area Coned Off

If the golf club car park is not busy they'll let you park if you buy a coffee.

Fine video Petr. One of my favorite hills which I do every year. The commemorative garden is new to me however. See these b**y crows are still hanging about!!

Bridge near Dalmunzie hotel

Can anyone update us on whether the bridge has reopened since 2018. Bridge over Alltt Glean Thaitneach on return from Carn Nan Right.

Re: Meall Chuaich - A worthwhile quickie.

Did it this morning as the rain had stopped for a while. I agree it's the best of the Drumochter bunch. Plenty of grouse, hares and the Heather is thick and healthy. I enjoyed the walk in I must say-far better than bumping along on a bike.

Re: hmmmmmmm...BEINN DUBHCHRAIG!

Did it today. Fine day but still a total bog through the woods. The bridge is no longer there but managed to scramble over the burn.

Lost in the gloom

Never trust BBc Judith again! She said that it would clear up by mid-day, the sun would come out and the rain would go away-but it didnt and I got soaked and lost. Still it was a good walk. Having done Beinn Ghlas and Lawers the previous week I wanted to do Meall Corranaich and meall a Choire Leith ...
