Re: Seventy (!!) parking fines issued at Loch Lomond

Some fair and agreeable points Baz , but the last thing i want to see are large areas cleared for new car parks Glen Brittle and the Fairy Pools is a prime example I'm confident the post covid craze of hill walking will fizzle out with many , leaving the hills to the die hards once more Same with th...

Re: Seventy (!!) parking fines issued at Loch Lomond

Two hours! If only, that's a mere bagatelle. Minimum time to reach The Highlands for me is 8 to 10 hours. I can recall from when I lived in Hampshire driving overnight to Torridon at New Year, 12 hours, arriving at dawn, then climbing Beinn Eighe in full winter conditions after a short kip in the c...

Re: Seventy (!!) parking fines issued at Loch Lomond

On the plus side , normal service will resume next year once all the newbies and bored Covid punters change their attentions to some other pursuit

And , for me , the drive to the hills is all part of the experience , mountain head on , decent music playing and chill chill chill

Tak it hame campaign

Well intentioned campaign. , but in these COVID 19 times , why would anyone think that randomly lifting other people’s rubbish strewn across the hills is a great idea ?

Thinking of Glen Dessary this weekend , does anyone foresee any parking or access issues at the road end ? I don't fancy that lochside road journey to be in vain  The parking can actually be extremely busy there but I would imagine it'll be quieter than usual without bothies being open. Email ...
