Re: Ice free summits?

Wondering if anyone has managed to find any ice free summits yet this year? Looking for a decent Munro or group of munros that I could manage solo without having to use crampons etc. Anyone got any ideas? Best and only advice should be to be equipped, prepared and trained for extreme conditions Or ...

Re: Car park closures Glencoe

Parked at the excellent car park with facilities at Inveruglas the past 2 weekends

4 quid gets you 24hrs parking with the use of new decent toilets and washrooms

Many walkers choosing to ignore the payment and blissfully walking to the hills

A very poor show

Re: An Cù .Tha na laithean a' dol Seachad... the days flash

Must have been extremely hard for you putting this news into words
An incredibly poignant tribute to your faithful companion

It certainly struck a chord with me as to how fleeting and quick our times pass us all by , humans and animals alike

My sincere condolences are with you

Re: ironing board

10's of millions have been spent desecrating the Cairngorm mountains with concrete and metal

Give me a little old ironing board any day of the week

Re: Ben Challum - a better way?!

Hi Iain , great route you provided , much better than the up and down bogfest . Walked it last Friday evening in wet conditions . Remained dry throughout and really enjoyed the final 400m ascent to the summit. Regeneration appears to be going really well with a fine spread of vegetation in the glen ...
