Re: Ullapool pub grub

The Seaforth changed hands a few years ago. Its now owned by a pub chain. Think that is when it started to go down hill. Even the locals had a moan about beer prices. As for the Indian heard the food is good. But they dont have a license to sell alcohol but your allowed to take your own.

Re: B and B CTW

You could do what someone we met doing it did, and get your wife to meet you anywhere the CWT went anywhere near the road and take you back to a hotel. I think she had based herself somewhere near Kinlochewe and was doing all sorts of trips. Of course, Knoydart still had to be done solo. Mind you, ...

Re: B and B CTW

Thanks guys. Did not think it would be possible especially the Knoydart and the last bit. Also so I know how hard it is to find rooms.
Just trying to make the sleeping bit a bit better so may be able to talk the wife in to tagging along.

Re: Bring on the snow.

Yep we had snow. As for the disruption cant say its been that bad here. Try not to drive at night and wait till you see the gritter/ plough in the day. Or just sit in and light the wood burner

gamemaster84 wrote:Wow assynt looks great. Do you know of there are 3 day hikes in the area?

All depends how far you want to do a day. You see a lot of cars just left for days on end and people just head off into the hill.
Or you could do a small part of the CWT.

Re: 5 day itinerary hike suggestions

Hi
Assynt is really nice if you have not been here well worth a visit. There is that much to do its hard to say where to start.
OK it is a bit of a trip from Glasgow. But once past Inverness the views you yuo get up to Ullapool and beyond are well worth it.
