Our first Munro

Easter Sunday 05 April 2015. 21 degrees in Pitlochry so there was only one thing to do.. Climb Shiehallion. Such an easy path to follow so do enjoy the photos of the blue skies and snow. By the way it wasn't 21 degrees at the top even though one of our group was in shorts brrrrr  https://c1.sta...

RSPB Troup Head - no wind or clouds :)

Running out of time so we drove to the car park at RSPB Troup head. It is well signed but takes you through a working farm yard so please be courteous and drive slowly. Sheep are in the field too so no dogs off lead. The cliffs are very high  and I crawled to the edge to look at the gannets. ...

Not quite the same route but similar

Having driven to Gardenstown and parked at the harbour (very beautiful), a section of the coast path to Crovie was washed away so you have to walk on the rocky shore which when the tide is high will be dangerous and you could be stranded and having to be air lifted out.... So being a complete chicke...

Findochty to Cullen Bay

We started in Findochty and walked through Portknockie to Cullen and back again. You could continue onto Portsoy and get the bus back to Findochty. Even though this is a coastal path it is a very easy and fairly flat walk. These fishing villages are the most beautiful places I have ever seen and on ...

Great walk

Really enjoyed this walk. It can be extended a number of ways by walking up to Glengorm Castle. Had a lovely picnic on the seats looking for otters (none seen) then coffee in the hide, still no otters. Again the description of this walk is very clear so thanks for that. The mist sat above us so stay...

White beaches

I'd love to come here in summer. The beach is beautiful and white and wild. Again, the walk description is perfect. Yes, the trees have been cut down around the ancient village but it creates as strange landscape without the trees. I found it interesting. There is great rock pooling here and paddlin...

Aros Park to the Lighthouse

We parked at Aros Park a few miles out of Tobermory and walked into the village before heading to the lighthouse. It made a nice walk given the restricted daylight that we had. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow on both sections of this walk. When you walk out of town and up the hill...

December Walk

A December walk when Storm Desmond was approaching was risky. However, on Sunday the weather cleared and we had a wonderful walk. When reached Corrie Fee, the place was stunning with blue skies and flurries of snow. Once you start to climb by the waterfall it became a little blustery but we carried ...

Loch Brandy

Easy walk from Clova Hotel. Windy was exceptionally high that day so we tread carefully especially when going up the left side of Loch Brandy which is steep (but only for a short while) before you reach the top. Saw white hares jumping around the moors and black grouse too. Highly recommend this eas...

Inver Path from Dunkeld

Parked behind medical centre in Dunkeld just off A9 and picked up the Inver/Fiddlers path from there. Nice walking on the river but the A9 was a bit noisey and messy. Crossing under the A9 and then into the forest on easy paths and well signed post finally arriving at the Hermitage. You could extend...

Very leisurely walk by the river try and birnam

Very easy flat walk, suitable for prams and wheel chairs when dry. Wide paths taking in the massive trees and lovely wide river.

Wow, what a view!

A walk steeped in history starting with the old kirk and Rob Roys grave. Initially a steep forest track which then softens. Follow the signs then through a gate to the top for the most wonderful view of Loch Voile and beyond. Not a long walk but a good leg stretch after sitting in the car for a few ...

Nice and Easy

Really nice walk on well signed paths. Very easy paths through the forest, on forest roads and back down the gorge to the car park.

Lovely flat walk along the Loch and river.

Started from Pitlochry town centre, down to the Boat House at the far end of town and crossed the dam using the foot bridge to start our walk towards Linn of Tummel. It's an easy walk as you're on a small road then forest paths which are all really well maintained. No hills, just a few purpose made ...

Fab reward at the top

Fabulous walk up a vertical ascent to some glorious views at the top (2nd cairn). It was hard going due to frozen ground and ice streams but these could be avoided by walking on the grass and heather and hopping about a bit. It is very steep in places so take care but worth the effort for the views ...
