Parked at roadside, followed shore along to bridge, this was a mistake, difficult going. Cnoc an t-Sabhail west

Parked just off Sruie road and skiied up to beyond high point of road, some firebreaks shown on OS 1:25 very overgrown with self seeded trees but large compartment boundary breaks better, Underfoot tussocky and uneven, suspect doing it in frozen conditions is best, limited views due to forest

Tain Hill

From Hill of Tain car park, tracks shown on 1:25 OS can be overgrown, timber operations in area but nothing directly on route. Best done in frozen contitions as can be wet underfoot, great views, Cairngorms and Ben Hope visible

Walk up Cooks Cairn

Cloudy day, the walk in was pleasant, forded the river at Suie, took the track up the hill just after Suie. There are "improvements" to these tracks related to a large wind factory on the north east side of Cooks Cairn. Blowy on the top so headed down the west side to get to the next track...

The height and distance were off the GPS so they should be right, but who knows. The shortcut can be a pain for bikes, because it has been dry might have been OK, but collective decision was to use the lochside track.

Cycled in from Alladale along Gleann Mor to Deanich Lodge, passing a group of young people on an expedition. Can a' Chaochain

Cycled in from Plodda Falls car park, left bike at Cougie. bushwhacked across rough ground to meet path, BIG mistake, ground is very rough. Once on path followed to highpoint then just headed to the top, came back over all the bumps on the ridge and returned to track. Followed track ALL the way down...
