Re: West Drumochter Quartet - Sat Dec 7th

Well, to be fair, it wasn’t the most pleasant of days. Lots of boggy bits and bugger all in the way of views to be had. Glad I left a bike at lay-by 79 as coasting back to Balsporran was the best bit of the day!

Still, a crap days walking is better than a good days working.....

West Drumochter Quartet - Sat Dec 7th

Looks like a weather window of opportunity to hit these four on Saturday.

I will be driving up from Clackmannanshire, so if anyone fancies some company (and avoiding a long walk/bike ride by parking a second car in the other lay-by, now’s your chance!

Anyone up for it?

Re: An Stuc in winter

No ice and no axe? Don't go.

Seriously, if you are wanting to tackle Munros in the winter - particularly ones with a challenging route like the NE ridge of An Stuc - you ought get the right kit - and more importantly learn how to use it.

Re: Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Yep thought icy paths would be the main challenge. Got a mate going up Ben Lomond tomorrow, he is going to giv me a sitrep from there. Looking to tempt wife and daughter up Meall Buidhe if. Conditions are reasonable. They have micro spikes, so we might be ok. As ever, discretion will be the better p...

Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Heading up to stay at the MacDonald Loch Rannoch this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows what conditions are like for MB & SaL? Expecting a bit of a freeze over the next couple of days, but looking up from the Central Belt to Ben Vorlich & Stuc a Chroin, there appears to be no snow on...

Carn nan Gabhar - cycle in?

For all sorts of reasons, I had to bale out of doing CnG as part of the classic Beinn a'Ghlo triumvirate. I am now faced with a long long trudge up the track to tick off this hill. I know its in the middle of nowhere, so should be safe, but does anyone know if there is anywhere I can stash/lock a bi...

Harvey Map for Drumochter East Munros

Ronseal - looking for a Harvey’s map for Carn na Caim & A’ Bhuidheanach Bheag. A’BB is just on the bottom edge of the Ben Adler superwalker map, but unless I’m completely losing it, I can’t find a map that covers both.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Cheers....
