Wonderful day on the South Glen Shiel Ridge
My good friend Jock McJock got in touch with me as he was looking to have a good look at doing one of the most famous ridge walks in Scotland which was the South Glen Shiel Ridge Walk which if we finished would mean that we had done seven Munros in one day! Awesome! I was full of trepidation as I ha...

Second time around with a great day on Beinn a' Ghlo
It was a great to be heading back to a past walk where we didn’t have a good day on our walk in Perthshire on the 12th June 2013 to walk Beinn a’ Ghlo which ended in a nightmare when I made an error in navigation which you can read what happened. So myself and Mark McGonagle joined up at the car par...

Ben Ledi - That blew the cobwebs away
I am still on my quest of getting my fitness up to a level which means that I enjoy my walk rather than the pressure put on by me to get the job done as quickly as possible. With this in mind I arrived at the bridge and parked the car just a wee bit from the bridge. There is a large board welcoming ...

A Tale of Two Cairns
I had decided that I needed another hill to get me back to a better fitness level ready for the busier days ahead on the hills. I had toyed some time ago to go back to Loch Turret as I had been told that it’s a good walk and I was feeling confident of doing this as I had a good stretch up in Tummel ...

Back into the groove with two Corbetts
We had already planned to go to Tummel Valley for a weekend of rest and recovery as we had been very busy renovating our house and it is a great place to stay as you are amongst some great scenery with Schiehallion as the backdrop. That bought back memories as we had ticked that off some time ago. h...

Back on The Hills
:D It was thanks to my walking friends, Val and Bod McLean and Wullie Duncan that saw me getting picked up from Kinnesswood to get back on the hills after a 2 year absence to arrive at Dollar for a masterclass of navigation using map and compass. Once the greetings had been warmly done then it was o...

Re: A King, a Queen, 2 Knights & a Pawn on Bishop Hill.
Good to meet you all in our back yard and nice to be recognised!
It was a good day to see the views across to Loch Leven and the Ochils.
Must get out more often but its handy having Bishops Hill as our own wee playground and maybe we will get back onto the bigger hills next year.

Re: Ben A'an - Dr.'s orders for Gammy Leg Walker
It was good to meet up again and spend a few days recalling many memories of Walking, Drinking and humour which we all need in spades......and also to get a result with the Academia at St.Andrews !! Also some things will never change with a friendship cemented by the whisky and the cuban cigar smoke...

Re: Jock's Road to Tolmount and Tom Buidhe
Thanks for doing this walk as I had thought for some time how the best way was for bagging these two. I will probably wait till next year unless the weather gets unseasonal and carries on with our 1 week indian summer. Also I've got penned in a revisit to Mayer and Dreish hopefuly at the beginning o...
