Re: GPS Advice please

I use a basic Garmin GPS ( yellow one) and I cannot fault it. I use it for Ghillieing in the Scottish Highlands. Use for plotting position of kill and finding my way in and out of the hills in sometimes atrocious conditions The accuracy for such a basic unit is amazing - I would not be without it. G...

Re: Glen Lyon

If the prat who owns the estate gets his way then it will only encourage other LandOwners to use the same excuse for stopping access to their land. I would bet that the owner is another absentee land owner.

Skye Walking

Looking for ideas for walking in Skye next year - probably May - August . My Son will be 40yrs and he is wanting to go for a weekend walking in Skye . We are fairly experienced walkers and fitness will not be a problem. We are looking for two or three walks that we could do over two days. We are not...

Re: Navigation Aids

Make them yourself at home. Print them, then laminate them on credit size pouches.

Re: Paps of Jura

Hi - I live on Islay and to my shame I have never climbed the Paps. However - that is going to change very shortly. A question on the route you took. Is the GPX file you have given us the route you took, or is it the route you planned to take. I have asked a few people for a route and I have had a f...

midges

Heard of a novel way of raising money last week. It seems that small community in Scotland, to raise money organised a sponsored midge stand. The idea was that people stripped to the waist and then stood out in the midges. The longer you stood without moving the more money raised. Can you imagine do...
