Father Son Wifey Moments on Curved Ridge and Aonach Eagach…

Scotland has long held a special place in my heart, my youngest boy ‘Harrison Munro’ is named after the hills that have given me some of my most special memories… Fitting then that we get to share the hills together… Curved Ridge and the Aonach Eagach the highlights of this trip… definitely places t...

Re: Chasing the sunset down to Glen Nevis

Enjoyed that BP... Is decently steep that drop off the Aonach's - I can still remember it now and was a whisper over two years ago I did this route... There is a small cairn that marks the top of the descent path but may have been covered in snow, and in any case there wouldn't have been a path... G...

Re: Compleating an Epic Adventure - Ladhar Bheinn - Knoydart

Wonderful report, and absolutely fabulous pix. It illustrates how incomparably enticing the place is - as if the map view wasn't already enticing enough - no roads at all. I will visit Knoydart. Thanks for this, also for your Mullardoch report from 2012, that inspired me to go for it also. It's so ...

Compleating an Epic Adventure - Ladhar Bheinn - Knoydart

Friday July 26th and I confess to being irritated... It had been a long week at work; a long few months even; but let's just say this week didn't finish on a high... I'd planned to walk the Aonach Eagach on the Saturday, but after the irritation and a check of the weather, I thought to hell with it....

Knoydart... And now just one remains...

I felt like a good hoof; been a while since I've been in the hills proper and work has taken over a little too much for my liking... So the mountains were calling... I've three left in Knoydart... I debated options... My walking partner was away; my wife to be not able to take time off; and Monty ha...

Scraggles Notches up his 100th Munro in Strathcarron

So today was 99% about Scraggles and his 100th Munro; and 1% about me and my final solitary munro in Strathcarron... I'd done a 40km hoof in October the year before over Lurg Mhor, Bidean a'Choire Sheasgaich, Sgur Choinnich, and Sgurr a'Charoachain, but on the summit of Sgurr a'Chaorachain with only...
