Tideswell & Miller's Dales

Small variation on a favourite Peak walk. The high-level route from Cressbrook is interesting but not as good as through the Dale.

Re: Help in Yorkshire

Hi Davie, Upper Wharfedale is a really beautiful area and both Buckden Pike and Great Whernside are good hills. - some bog on the high ground but not the worst. I'm not sure what would take you six hours, but they can certainly be combined - Alteknacker does a 14m version of it here: https://www.wal...

Leckhampton Hill

Very enjoyable short walk just off the M5. Left me newly tempted by the Cotswold Way.

Minninglow

Mainly familiar areas of the White Peak, a bit drier than most places recently but a lot of mist - indistinct path lost for a while early on.

Re: Snowdon via the Watkin path

Thanks Al, that's helpful; nothing like a pitched path yet then... Certainly be no music involved if I do go there!

Re: Snowdon via the Watkin path

Good effort, Al, and some atmospheric photos. How did you find the last part of the Watkin ascent? (before joining the main ridge path that also leads to the South Ridge descent). It used to get some bad write-ups - apparently very loose scree above a steep slope - although there were meant to be so...
