They were everywhere on Beinn Sgulaird last Tuesday. My arms are still covered in red lumps but at least it stopped itching!

Some of my favourites so far have been An Stuc, Lochnagar, Beinn Alligin. I liked Mayar but that was more for the Corrie of Fee than the actual hill! I found Ben Nevis a bit of a slog, even on the tourist path, as it just never ends! So I think if you find routes that have you walking for 6+ hours you should be fine.

This is relevant to my weekend plans, was thinking of doing Ben Lawers on Sunday. Do conditions seem similar or is it worse? . The top 100m or so of Lawers is covered in old snow still.
