Re: Where's the pic England v5

Keeping with the climbing theme....this was enroute to a classic crag and served as a welcome dip.

A winter expedition on Ben More

our_route.gpx Alistair, Dad and I set off for the challenge of Ben More about a year ago now, I wrote this report not long afterwards but then it fell off the rader. I had wanted to do this walk ever since seeing pictures of its lovely broad green ridge on walkhighlands. After leaving Glasgow at 6a...

Re: Ben lui - find the car park and your half way there

Glad you enjoyed the mud, I hated every second of it  If you use the 'map and directions' link in the walk description you get the co-ordinates of the exact parking spot to enter into the sat nav. Invaluable, especially when the parking spot is a tiny layby in the middle of nowhere. Ah excelle...

Re: Ben lui - find the car park and your half way there

Well done, this route is a bit of a nightmare! Did this route a couple of weeks ago and the I can testify that this route is at least bog-factor 100. Up to the knees in some points   A couple of tips though.. 1. You can cross the river by using the stepping stones immediately in front o...

Ben lui - find the car park and your half way there

Dad and I decided to do Ben Lui. it was a very last minute decision. I floated the idea to dad the day before but he was feeling a bit lazy so made up some cobblers about the weather forecast being terrible. At 11pm he had a change of heart......so we were on! We didn't know much about it but...

Slioch and the Great Sundew

We were excited to be back up in Wester Ross, the last time was 2010 when we did the lovely walk from Tollie to Slattadale along the side of Loch Maree. This time my parents came to join, so with a babysitter on hand (thanks again mum  ) we hoped there might be a good day to do Slioch. As luck...

The mossy mountain

A wee jaunt up Ben Chonzie had been on the cards for a while. Finally the time came, my sister, dad and I were all free for a hill and the sun was shining, we planted the idea at 10pm and were meeting by the golden grouse at 9am the next morning. We choose to tackle the hill from Glen Turret as it l...

Re: Name that Loch!

That's the one jmarkb - good going as thought this would be a bit of a "guess you had to be there" picture. Taken from the Bay of Stoer - Suliven just on the left, Cul Mor on the right. Beautiful part of the world. Over to you jmarkb.

Out in the hills again!

Out in the hills again and how I had missed them! Leaving our wee six month old at home for the first time with trusty grandma as babysitter, we set out to feel the wind in our hair......as far from home as we dared. Grandad wisely jumped at the chance to join us over babysitting  our_route.gpx...
