Re: Sail Mhor to Eighe Main Ridge

I have only done this route in ascent which is certainly easier, but it is possible to bypass the rock step. The direct ascent looked impossible to me (I'm not a rock climber!) so I walked around the obstacle on the right hand (south) side and found a bypass path that leads to an easy 'staircase' wh...

Re: Torridon Camping Options

I'd be wary of that. I last passed through Kinlochewe towards the end of March, just before "lockdown" officially kicked in. Even then the locals had a makeshift barrier across the entrance complete with sign saying "Toilets Closed, No Campervans." The toilets are definitely ope...

Re: Torridon Camping Options

Unfortunately, the Torridon campsite as well as the toilet/shower block are still closed. I parked at the Countryside Centre on Friday night and walked up to the toilet block (hoping for a shower) but it's locked. A note on the door explains it's 'due to Covid' and that 'ignoring the closure and usi...

Found: The North Face trainers

Found a pair of women's TNF trainers/trail running shoes today on the path from Barisdale to Kinloch Hourn.

Left them with Tony at the Farmhouse in Kinloch Hourn.

Re: The Inn Pinn 5

I changed the number of completed rounds in my profile to 1, but it doesn't show under my avatar :(

No wee dram, I'm afraid, just had a shower, went to bed and slept like a log!

Shame that you didn't get any better weather on the Sunday, but at least you got a Munro/Graham done :D

Re: The Inn Pinn 5

Thanks to you all for making this day so memorable, you were all great company and I enjoyed walking (and climbing) with you - and sharing the whole spectrum of emotions from fear to happiness :D Did you manage to get out on Saturday/Sunday, in spite of the weather? (If I had stayed another night, I...

Re: Cape Wrath Trail 2013 Part 3

Well done, a great report and you make it all look so easy :)

The CWT is one of my potential alternatives in case I don't get on next year's TGO Challenge, but I made a mental note to myself already: Don't camp by the ruins at Sandwood Bay!!
