Re: New Grahams!!!

Will stick with the original list myself, however some of the new additions are lovely hills to do,so worth attempting at a future date.

Re: Fisherfield Munros from Poolewe and Kinlochewe

Another option would be to come in from the Braemore side, alongside Loch a'Bhraoin, would get you the Eastern hills, doable in a day.

Re: Crianlarich Hills / Rannoch Wall snow cover

We did Achaladair and a'Chreachain last weekend.Apart from some snow attached to the Northern corries, the summits were clear of snow.Water levels on the Waters of Tulla were also low,so no issues crossing over.

Stob a'Choin footbridge damage

A few of us did Stob a'Choin from Inverlochlarig yesterday.Got to the footbridge to cross the River Larig to discover it's been washed away.Damage was caused during the recent heavy rain-fall which affected the rail-line at Crianlarich. It's possible to cross over the river without too much difficult...

Re: Inveruglas Visitor Centre car-park closed

At least we know it's opening up again, hopefully they don't see this as an opportunity to bump up the parking charges when it re-opens.

Passed the Inveruglas Visitor Centre car-park yesterday and noticed that the facility was shut and a barrier had been placed across the entrance. Is anyone aware if this is a short term measure ?Would say this will cause problems if you want to access Ben Vane and Ben Vorlich. Can't find any informati...

Black Mount -without the barb-wire fence

Looking for a short walk today and this one fitted the bill.Previous walk reports mention crossing barbed wire fences and dealing with cattle, plus parking seemed awkward round about this area.Got round those problems,I parked my car next to the church in Dolphinton, seemed to be enough room for traff...

Goseland Hill

Pleasant midweek trip round the Biggar area doing a few sub 2000 hills. My start point is a bit further along from Fife Flyers route, parked beside Gosland where there's an off road section which could take about 4 cars.Went through the gate beside the track and it was a direct clamber up the slope to...

Lamachan Hill

After reading through some of the walk reports for this group of hills,I've noticed that most seem to be taking routes through forest areas without trails making things awkward .The route I took had the advantage of the Southern Upland Way and apart from a section beside the Sheil Burn which had unp...

Carn a Mhaim and Sgor Mor

Fortunate to be able to do mid-week walks and recently have been doing some of the Cairngorms routes, and with the recent good weather the conditions have been ideal. The usual option for the Munro is to do a bike and hike and include Ben Macdui into the route,As I had done Macdui previously,I saw an ...

Re: Ben Avon and Beinn a'Bhuird with camp at the Sneck

Did this on Tuesday,it's a big route and the feeling of openness on the summits was enjoyable for me.A route to go for at this time of year and the conditions we are enjoying.Liked the pictures of the plants you managed to get.

Meall Dearg from Amulree

Overcast day on Saturday, so wasn't tempted to do any of the higher hills, decided on a drive up to Amulree to do Meall Dearg.Took advantage of the various stalkers paths which cover this route, which made for an easy walk.Still sections of snow near the top, didn't require crampons or micro-spikes as ...

Whats that on the horizon ? Another wind-farm

Weather for today looked better in the South West, so decided East Ayrshire to do Windy Standard and Alhang looked a good bet :( Wrong it chucked it down for most of the day, think it's called character building. Left the car at the water works before Afton Reservoir, and have now discovered that mo...

Re: Meall Chuaich, what a lovely hill.

Did this hill a couple of weeks before you, it was an easy day out. It provides a good viewpoint of the surrounding hills and fortunately I had good conditions and no midgie problems. :) I managed to include Creag Ruadh to my route as well which gave a pleasant extension onto my day.
