Re: No Tigers Spotted (but Turbines Aplenty)

A fairly long route, joining two hills that I just didn't consider as "combine-able". Great stuff!

What kind of ptarmigan are those in the Moy wind farm picture? Their plumage is unlike any I have seen before!? :eh:

Re: Beinn a’ Chearcaill – a table with a view

Having just climbed Beinn a' Chearcaill on Sunday just past (after putting it on the backburner for long enough!), it was great to read your experience of it! It is such a great viewpoint and undoubtedly one of the finest Grahams; the path to the coire is excellent and the tabletop summit so unique ...

Re: Winter galore in Braemore

A truly magical outing! We did wave as yous were descending along the SE ridge but alas, a bit far for shouting! _MG_1245.jpg My girlfriend and I had set off in glorious sunshine but the soft, deep snow had the same effect on me (/us!) - I broke trail from the Home Loch and skirted round to t...

Re: Wild camp + first Winter traverse [Slioch]

'Yet our eyes hadn't yet seen it all. Off in the direction of Gairloch, a pillar of pale pink stretched into the sky as if growing from the mainland. Looking upwards, a burst of white light moved silently, like car headlights streaming all the way from the top of the road beyond Kinlochewe. In a qu...

Re: Wild camp + first Winter traverse [Slioch]

Superb adventure...and as for the aurora, wow. I've never even heard of a STEVE. (Thought it must have been the name of one of your party). Congratulations on winning the report of the month, well deserved. Thanks Robertgee! Very fortunate to get such a vivid and varied display - and t...

Keeping Up with the Trail Runners

Re: Maol Chean Dearg from Annat

Cool wee variation on the usual route from Coulags! When the time inevitably comes to climb Maol Chean-dearg again (a third time  ), I must keep in mind your route! Nice report, looks like a lot of fun (provided the gales had worn off). 8)

Re: Have yourself a Merry Little Wyvis

Enjoyed the report, could feel the festive spirit jingling all the way...! I climbed Little Wyvis a week before Xmas Day and was surprised to see the lost 'reindeer' taking his holidays near Silverbridge so close to game time!  Managed to miss out on the ice which quickly followed a long ...

Thank you for persevering 😂 it took 4 years to write up and takes about 4 hours to read haha! I had a lot to cram in, I'm glad there's not a character or image limit (that I've found, yet!)

All the best,
Scott :)

Re: Wild camp + first Winter traverse [Slioch]

Wow! Superb stuff, what an adventure. The camp on the magical Isle must have been wonderful, its special enough even without the Aurora and STEVE. Not a bad looking day on the hill, either  Isle Maree remains pretty clean and tidy, I've visited twice this year. Whilst there is moderate evidenc...

Re: Ghosts of Glen Shiel

And what about the ghosts? Where and what are the ghosts of Glen Shiel? Not so much historical or mythical ghosts of legend or lore - more to do with our spooky outlines in the fog and the ghoulish atmosphere we camped in. A dead silence permeated by the groans of the stags below. Perhaps I should ...
