Jack's first Munro

Very proud of Jack climbing his first Munro aged 7. Came down via Ptarmigan. He did amazing, looking forward to doing more Munros with him.

Ben Starav 3

Cracking walk, adding the 3rd Munro was a bit tougher than anticipated. Thought about doing all 5 but decided against it due to time.

Am Bathach

Planned on doing Blaven, but as i approached Skye the tops were all in cloud so I headed back to Glen Shiel, where a lot of the Munros were clear when I'd drove through. Went for Ciste Dhubh. Climbed Am Bathach and the weather kept deteriorating. Got to about 800m up Ciste Dhubh, but then I was stru...

Mealna Letter hill run

Ran in reverse direction. Thick fog most of the way and very boggy conditions made for a difficult run

Ben Nevis via CMD arete

With cloud inversions possible on the highest summits, me Ross and Willy headed for the highest. Although we were not quite out of the cloud on CMD we knew we were close as it seemed brighter so we were hopeful for Nevis. On the final pull up to Nevis we did break out the top of the cloud and it was...

Beinn Udlamain and Sgairneach Mhor

Walked up first Munro in the dark hoping to get sunrise at the top. Got to the top just as it was starting to get light. But because of surrounding cloud sunrise could not be seen. Continued walk and was home for lunch time.

Ben Ledi

Very foggy. Helped a party looking for a lost dog. But instead found a guy wandering about lost in the fog on his first ever hill, wearing shoes and jeans, no gloves or any way of navigating. Managed to find the party of people who he was trying to find at the top and had no idea he was even on the ...

Beinn Chabhair

Straight up and down. Wet day, with no views and very little snow. But felt great to be on a hill again after my hernia operation 3 weeks earlier.

Re: multi-day summit bagging walks and endurance

Whether or not your body will recover over night after long hard walk will depend on your own fitness levels. I'm fairly fit and think I would struggle with walking The Mamores ridge in a day with enough kit to last for a few more days. But, no doubt there are others who would be able to do it. If y...
