Would the WH admins be able to add a filter on when searching for walks. You can search for Munros, Corbettes and Grahams but it would be good to be able to search for Sub 2000's too.

Had a cheeky few days off and so did Fraser. He sugested we do the Fisherfield 6. I agreed without looking into what it was. Oops!!! We left early Wednesday afternoon, got stuck in traffic up the A9 just south of Dalwhinnie. Lucky we checked Google maps and saw we could turn back and take a side roa...

Number 55 and 56 - Bikes and Hikes

Our day out was a Sunday, all week had been full of sunny, beautiful days. However, the forecast for our day slipped, it was to be dry but cloudy. To be honest it was probably better than cooking in the sun for what was marked as 8-10 hours. We started the usual 6am and headed off to the Cairngorms....

Meall Glas and Sgiath Chuil - 53 and 54

The second trip of 2018, two weeks before the first. The conditions were like night and day! 2 weeks ago I was walking in snow shortly after leaving the car, this time there were only a few patches on much higher ground. There were 4 of us on today walk, the usual Fraser and I plus Danny Jones from ...

First trip of 2018 (and in new boots, too!)

The winter of 2017/18 was loooooong! So much so that the first trip of 2018 was the 7th April!! None the less, it was a grand day out. Still plenty of walking in the snow but it was the first time I got to properly try out my new boots (and other kit I got over the winter) The usual 6am start began ...

Hittin' the Big 5-0

Wasn't keen on heading out this late in October, only 1 year ago at the beginning of October I was at Schiehallion with my workmates and it was covered in snow and blizzard conditons. I was expecting much the same but we wanted to get 50 done to end the year. Luckily it has been rather mild so not a...

White Mounth Munros - In 2 trips

This route takes in 5 Munros. We attempted this on 10/09/2017 but due to poor weather we only managed Lochnagar this time. We returned on 23/09/2017 to complete the unfinished business... We had planned to take the bikes with us as looking at the map could cycle to the other end of the loch and star...

Tarmachan RIdge

Well due to holidays this was the first trip in about 8 weeks so was definately looking forward to it. It was the first time I drove Frasers car which was pretty cool, quite enjoyed that. Anyway, we got to the Ben Lawers car park and headed off. Plenty midges about but we had wipes, spray and a net ...

South Glen Shiel Ridge(minus Creag a'Mhaim) - Mammoth Task!

We camped the night before doing the Ridge and had worked it that James could drop the car at the end point waiting for us tomorrow. We set up camp and had our dinner (Aldi pot noodles are horrible!!!) Luckily we were camped not too far from the Cluanie Inn and as we needed a poo we had to go in for...

Steep Steep Steep!!!

Had a few cheeky days off work, original plan was to leave Tuesday, camp that night and do the South Glen Shiel Ridge on the Wednesday. The weather forecast wouldn't allow. Change of plan - leave on the Wednesday to do Beinn Sgritheall and camp that night for the Ridge the next day. Beinn Sgritheall...

First overnighter - part 2

Woke up at the most beautiful place - the foot of Ben Hope! Considering how terrible the previous day was I couldn't be happier this morning. I was warm, dry and it was a lovely day. Was up at 4.30, packed up Andy had breakfast and were off for 5.30 in the morning. We were in the shade due to the hi...

First overnighter - part 1

Biggest trip so far! Heading off on the Saturday, starting with a 4 hour drive to the foot of Ben Klibreck. The forecast wasn't to be great for this walk and jeezo was it right! It rained the entire walk! Wasn't too bad to begin with as we just got on with it. However over time the waterproofs gave ...
